Editors' review

RoboForm is far more than a form-filling and password-managing browser add-on; this inexpensive shareware is one of the most useful browser enhancements we've encountered. RoboForm saves and enters log-in data and passwords, as well as your address, contact data, or any form fields you're always entering the hard way in Web sites and Windows programs. It also manages bookmarks, downloads, notes, and much more. RoboForm costs just under $10 with a free 30-day trial.

Pros

Everywhere or Desktop: You can install RoboForm to save data only on your main PC, or you can create an online account that lets you use RoboForm with all your computers and devices. In either case, memorize your master password, which can't be recovered.

Extras: RoboForm's extensive list of extras includes a secure Password Generator, SafeNotes, Contacts, Fingerprints, Smart Cards, and many other features and tools.

Options: RoboForm boasts a huge range of options and settings. We could Manage Identities and Profiles, edit Contacts, and Import and Sync data from RoboForm's Windows tray menu or browser settings.

Cons

Too much? RoboForm does so much and has so many features and extras that some users might find it overwhelming.

Costs money: RoboForm is inexpensive and delivers excellent value, but it's not free. Much of what it does is also available in freeware; just not in one program.

Bottom line

We're impressed by RoboForm, and so are many others, to judge by the program's reception. It significantly enhances your browser's capabilities and minimizes routine actions. The more time you spend online or at your PC, the more RoboForm can do for you.

    "Shyster Company"

    August 22, 2014   |   By RJRiley

    Version: RoboForm 7.9.9.1

    Pros

None, LastPass and xMarks, in conjunction with TooManyTabs and Synergy is far better and free.

    Cons

Company sold us lifetime licenses for each computer and then a few months before a browser update took the export feature out of LastPass Then they tried to gouge & blackmail us into buying a subscription. It was a pain transfering my data, but I did so and frankly LastPass is a far better solution.

    Summary

Use LastPass and xMarks, it is free and does a far better job.

"Great Programs - Drags Down Browser"

    August 10, 2014   |   By Al270

    Version: RoboForm 7.9.8.5

    Pros

    Easy to load and use.

    Cons

Slows down the loading pages even after rebooting etc. Especially drags down Zygna games on Facebook on each action that requires a click by 5 to 10 secs which makes it unacceptable. Not sure how it would affect other on line games but this con caused me to remove the program and go back to using Stickies for my passwords.

    Summary

Great program for non-gamers or anyone who does not mind an extra delay in loading pages, but unacceptable hit in performance if you load a lot of screens.

    "Great...love RoboForm"

    July 04, 2014   |   By dquin656

    Version: RoboForm 7.9.8.5

    Pros

I have many email accounts and it is easy to choose which one to use, because of the toolbar.
When you have to change a password, it automatically replaces the old password with the new one, when you reply to the question, do you want to save this information. Can maintain logins via it's interface

Even with the cons, I still find it one of the easiest and best password keepers available.

    Cons

I know there isn't much to do about it, but I don't like the Goggle add-on. I know it will do everything the IE tool will do, but it being on the bottom of the screen, it sometimes blocks fields that needs to be entered.

The other problem is that many sites have popup logins now, and RoboForm cannot submit the form. But, it will fill the form (usually) and you just click the submit form manually on the login popup. Not a severe issue.

There are also more sites that use different pages for the login. 1st page you enter your login id, 2nd page you enter your password, 3rd page you answer your "secret" question answer. I've had trouble getting this to work.

I want my daughters to try it, but there is no longer a "free" trial version. The old one used to limit you to 20 logins. Please bring the "free trial" version back. Even if you lower it to 10 or 5 logins, so people can really get the experience of trying it out, before they buy.

    Summary

Since my primary browser is IE, I very happy with it. I've had it for about 4-5 years and still feel the most comfortable with it's features. I have tried a few others that are rated highly, but being lazy, I never got comfortable about their functions and how it works.

"Could Not Get Along Without It"

    June 23, 2014   |   By mgm1854

    Version: RoboForm 7.9.7.5

    Pros

Works great, stores more than passwords, has safenotes and profiles

    Cons

None other than it is not free but is low in cost

    Summary

I've been using RoboForm Everywhere for years. It keeps my passwords and sensitive information for years. I truly could not live without it and manage secure passwords. It works flawlessly and I use it across several computers. I also use it on my Android phone. It keeps getting better with each version.

    "A great utility!"

    June 20, 2014   |   By MajorDragon1

    Version: RoboForm 7.9.7.5

    Pros

RoboForm is a great security manager. With it I can use the most un-rememberable passwords which are very unlikely to be cracked. I have over two hundred logins, and I can access them from either of my home computers, or my laptop or S5 phone anywhere. Love it

    Cons

I find it somewhat challenging to use with my S5 Android phone.

    Summary

    Well worth the money!

"This is absolutely my #1 most useful application."

    June 19, 2014

    Version: RoboForm 7.9.7.5

    Pros

What more can I say? It does what the advertising says it will do and does it better than any other comparable application. The face that I can use it across operating systems is just icing on the cake.

    Cons

Only that it's not available on every platform with the same ease of use as exists on the PC using Windows 7. Every now and then a new release with fail to work properly with one of my add-ins, but that pales in comparison to its overall usefulness.

    Summary

This is a tremendous application. Anybody who tries to manage their log-ins and passwords without it is torturing themselves with this application. I love this application and so far, it loves me
