This fun speech recognition program does respond to your commands, but installation and initial usage may have your head spinning. Oddly, Responding Heads comes as a TXT file, so you'll have to remove the extraneous TXT extension to actually install the program. The program takes its place on the system tray, with a few options available via the context menu. Edit Brain, found under Options, is the most important feature. You'll find a few editable commands, including reading selected text and telling the time. We fumbled around a bit before we figured out what to say to get the program to perform a selected command. The help file was of little help, but it performed smoothly once we got our bearings. The help file was more useful in creating our own commands. It's not difficult to make the program open an Internet browser, run applications, or type in text or display time, for example. Moreover, the program can display a cartoonlike character on your screen as a visual treat. This freeware will satisfy the casual speech recognition user, once you figure things out.Publisher's description
From adsa software developement :Responding Heads enables you to launch programs, commands, and actions via voice commands spoken into your PC microphone. The program uses the MS Speech recognition engine and is very easy to configure. It places a small-animated head on your desktop that confirms that spoken commands and adds some animation to the process (this can be turned off). Responding Heads supports program launching, say Open Mail to run Outlook Express, as well as several system and keyboard commands, text-to-speech conversion, and even typing of pre-configured keystrokes. Responding Heads is very easy to set up. It can also read any selected text.
