old versions USED to be great... but now it just doesnt work (since mid 2014).
Cons
Seriously, this does not work in Chrome or Firefox or the standalone version. i assume the developers have abandoned shop.
Summary
doesnt work. AVOID!!! the developers hasnt fixed anything in a whole year!!

This program will install hijacks on any browser and trash your computer. The early version was great. Then they went over to the dark side.

Pros
This recorder works REALLY REALLY well. It has a lot of different options from audio, to video, to Youtube. Your files are nicely put into an easily findable menu system. I used it to record online radio, get clips from a youtube video, capture stuff from my screen.
Cons
Unfortunately the OTHER things that are attached to this free software are a big headache. My computer crashed and I lost Freecorder and I'm not sure if I will put it back on because of horrible little extra stuff that attaches itself to your system. I'd rate it much higher if it wasn't for that.
Summary
It's the best recorder I've seen. I could deal with the malware - I cleaned up most of it - but I will try something else before downloading Freecorder again.
Only if you like spam. It's loaded with it.

Never before came so much spam from just one install. It installs for every user and every browser. You can get rid of it but it is a LOT of work.

The easy way to uninstall this trojan is except uninstall all freecorder programs also to unintall your browsers and and then reinstall as standalone (so don t forget to download the browsers first as standalone before unintall)

Summary
Don't install unless you want to spend the next several hours scratching your head wondering why all your browsers have been hijacked and you get all sorts of unwanted popups when clicking links in your browsers. This used to be a decent and trusted app. Sorry to see Applian go this route.
Install only if you like malware/spyware, and toolbars.

As others above have said I opted out of all offers presented during installation yet was recipient of a new toolbar and several adware/spyware programs. Appreciate that.

Didn't get to it, when WinPatrol (Scotty) started barking a lot I quit the install as fast as I could

installs addware (I needed to at least uninstall 3 different programes), alters starting page of every browser it can find, alters default search engine.. the owrks..
