Adobe Photoshop SpeedUp is a standalone application that significantly decreases the time it takes to load Adobe Photoshop by disabling the plug-ins that you may not need. There are several options such as whether to load the Adobe fonts, load the presets, and set the memory usage. You may restore to the original settings at any time. Adobe Photoshop SpeedUp is freeware, works with Adobe Photoshop versions 3 through CS4. Available interface languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Japanese.
Hard to use and confusing, it said I had more than one version of Photoshop installed. Wrong! It tried to define my version as photoshop 6. What? Probably doing it wrong or something but when I installed and ran it, photoshop refused to load at all.
Summary
bad experience. make this more user friendly
Very good program
elenapham
Pros
I like to use this program to edit my photos and create images. It is easy to use, reliable, it has many options - I like to use the different artistic effects, for example.
Cons
None for me
Summary
Works, but with a significant caveat
TransUtopian
Pros
Speeds up Photoshop startup and highly customizable in what you enable/disable
Cons
Can't highlight more than one plugin/filter at a time to exclude from the "Don't load these at startup" list. A bear since there are many I don't use, but there are many I *do*, so I have to right-click and exclude them one at a time because Ctrl or Shift don't batch-highlight... (Yes I know it's freeware, but it's still a significant hassle in a program that's intended to prevent it.) Hopefully will be corrected in next version of program.
Summary
This works fine, try it you'll like it.
Bruze
Pros
Makes a slow, often used program for viewing simple pdf documents, MUCH faster. Do not be deterred by the nay sayers. This program dose what it says and dose it well.
Cons
Like most people I do not use all of acrobats features so there may be a few performance compromises I wouldn’t see, but if you need them they can be easily restored by the same program. Hey what do you want for nothing, a rubber biscuit?
Summary
Don't bother unless you don't want to use any filters
