"Great for the basics!"

August 01, 2010  |  By jkfj_22

 |  Version: Photo Editor 1.1

Pros

Doesn't slow my computer down, while having other programs running. It's responsive, and doesn't lag, or anything similar. This is especially useful, due to the age of my computer, 10 years. Simple UI, exceptionally simple to figure out. Nice foru

Cons

Could be a tad more functional, with more features, more refinement. Can be just a trite confusing at times. Difficult to access the main site, choosing to click on the links in the program. They're basically dead links.

Summary

As I stated above . . . when you first start using it, and click on a feature, personally I was a little confused at first. As well as, skeptical, but just looking at the few options, it's fairly self explanatory. They have a great forum if you need assistance, or have a question, and everything's free. It seems as though there's a quick answer, if you have a question. If you want to check out the developer's site, that can be a little tricky. I wanted to see if there were updates, because it's been a while since I've downloaded, or even used the software. After looking through the options, I found a link the developer's site. After clicking on the link, I wasn't taken anywhere. The link seems to be broken, but if I remember correctly, the forum link works fine. I was able to find assistance to the developer's site by combing through the forum posts. But all in all, it's a great product thus far, and I plan on using it a lot. I'll even recommend it to friends, if the opportunity arises, but I'll be using another program for some of the more advanced touch ups, and fixes.

"Light manipulation plus some basic tools"

April 14, 2010  |  By oldsalt19

 |  Version: Photo Editor 1.1

Pros

Basic software with some light manipulation tools in a very well presented interface.

Cons

Features a bit sparse. A bit buggy with Windows 7.

Summary

This software includes image rotation, red eye correction, color enhancement (saturation), noise reduction, sharpening, re-sampling (resizing), caricature, makeup (blemish removal and smoothing in portraiture), lighting (helpful in the production of fake sunsets, etc), straightening (perspective correction, etc), and cropping. Some of the labels identifying the features become oversize (larger) and do not fit correctly in their designed spaces. This type of bug has appeared in several samples of different software run with Windows 7. With this bug, enough of each label is readable so that there is no problem operating the software. Personally, I will be using the lighting manipulation tools to enhance sunsets, etc. This is not earth-shattering software but it can be useful in specific situations.

"Simple to use and it's features work"

January 12, 2010  |  By waywould2

 |  Version: Photo Editor 1.1

Pros

All functions I have attempted to use in the program worked. The make up feature works very well.

Cons

It would be nice to have a split image function like a before and after. The tutorial feature comes up with a broken link error.

Summary

The lay out of it's functions are simple enough to follow and understand.

Can't think of a thing about it that I dislike. For a free program it's tops.

"Great Program, Slight Letdown."

August 31, 2009  |  By XherekittykittyX

 |  Version: Photo Editor 1.1

Pros

Great layout, I love the features. Easy to use, doesnt have annoying popups or constant ads, a great plus. The features are very simple to learn, and take very little effort to use or get to.

Cons

My only problem with this program is it doesnt do a whole lot. I like the features is has, because theyre unique, but it doesnt do anything else.

"Disappointd in Interface"

August 18, 2009  |  By SLorraine

 |  Version: Photo Editor 1.1

Pros

If I could figure out how to use the Makeup feature of this program I would just love it-that was the main reason I downloaded it in the first place.

Cons

When I could not get the Makeup feature to work, I went to the link in the email they sent to me if I ever needed any help in using the program, and the tutorial that I was taken to about how to use the Makeup feature was completely different.

Summary

I was so excited when I first found this program because I had been looking for a long time for a program that would remove blemishes and smooth out wrinkles. This was the only free program that I found that offered these features. But when I went to the program's site to look at tutorial for using this feature, the interface that was shown looked nothing like what was in my program. And some of the features listed in the sites tutorial were not even listed in my program. I know I have the latest version because I looked just to make sure, so I don't have an outdated program. Maybe there is a way to switch the look of the interface within the program so that it looks like the one in the tutorial, but if there is a way to do it, I have not figured it out yet. I really would like to be able to use this program because the Makeup feature is the most important feature to me at this time. I have plenty of other photo editing programs that do a great job of editing, but none with the Makeup feature. I have GIMP (hardest to use), PhotoScape (one I use the most), and Paint.Net (which also has some great features that the others are not as good at). Some times I have to use all of my photo editing programs on one picture to accomplish the exact effect that I need, but none of them will remove blemishes, or smooth out wrinkles--so Photo Editor! is really a must for me for this problem.

"Neato. Works well."

July 12, 2009  |  By KimmySeven

 |  Version: Photo Editor 1.1

Pros

Easy to use.

Cons

Would like to zoom into maximum with one button, as it is now you have to click a few times, but no big deal. If you zoom past maximum, there's a small glitch but no big deal.

Summary

Great for touching up photos. Tools work well, including teeth whitener.
