Pandora Recovery Wizard is a free tool that helps you locate and recover lost or deleted files from your system. You can browse for files in the main window's tree view, but the easiest way to recover files is with Pandora's wizard, which holds users' hands at every step of the critical process. It can recover deleted files, provided they haven't been severely damaged or securely overwritten.
Pandora Recovery Wizard opened with both its main interface and the program's recovery wizard, which we could set to open each time by clicking a check box. The wizard explains each step, starting with an important message about saving recovered files to a location other than on the disk they're being recovered from, such as a secondary hard drive, USB drive, network share, or other solution. The first step is a logical one: check your Recycle Bin to see if your file is there. If that seems a bit obvious, it is, but experience leads the program's developers to emphasize the obvious. Chances are good that you're not in the best mood or frame of mind when you can't find an uber-important file and fear you may have accidentally deleted it, and everything the program can do to not only make the process of finding and recovering the strays as easy as possible but also a quick as it can be is fine with us. If you find what you're looking for in the Recycle Bin right away, Pandora did its job and saved you time, though not as much as simply checking the Recycle Bin first (HINT).
But you probably checked the Recycle Bin already and need Pandora's help. As (bad) luck would have it, we recently used Pandora Recovery Wizard to recover a file we'd accidentally deleted (How? We don't know) from our C drive. We didn't have to resort to the program's powerful Deep Scan since our lost file hadn't been overwritten yet. I have a 500gb portabal wd disk that had like 150 gb of information. One day it just show me a pop up that I need to format disk!
well, I searched for many many software to get my data back. I also tried Recuva (which is great... to get DELETED files...) did not work in this situation! With Recuva when I tried to get data, the only information was that "THE DISK IS NOT READY" or "DISK NOT DETECTED".
so, gladly i found Pandora.
It started the scan for my data. Found everything, and restored it for the folder I wanted with the original folder structure -

this comes with Mixi.dj toolbar which is spyware/malware. I clicked the button NOT to download the toolbar but it downloaded anyways. then I had an awful time to get rid of it. Also the program recovery never worked, I tried it many times and all it did was shut down.
Summary
Don't waste your time,(cause it will cost you alot of time to get rid of the malware) get piriform.com/recuva instead, it works so well it found 4 year old files that I had deleted.

Immediately found accidentally deleted jpeg files on SD card. Easily allowed me to save them to pc hard drive. User interface is visual and easy to understand (skip Wizard). Shows previews of files.
(I tried 4 other free file recovery programs from CNET list that did not find any/all files or did not allow me to save files.)Cons

Found this on YutubeMedia and it's very helpful. It can recover deleted files from your hard drive or USB Disks. It also accounts for n00bs by providing a link to the Recycle Bin in case you haven't checked it yet.
Cons
Unfortunately, if the file has been deleted for too long, or have deleted a lot of files after it, you simply can't get it back. It is permanently gone. That isn't the fault of this program, that's just how it works. Also, due to the nature of how this software works, you might not be able to retrieve the file's NAME - just the contents of the file itself. This isn't a big problem in most cases.

"It works, but installs CNET has bundled malware with it"

The program works as advertised. I was able to save the photos I had accidentally deleted.
Cons
I discovered that malware is now infecting my system, showing me ads on websites where there should be none.
I will never be using CNET to download software in the future and I advise you to do the same.
Safe downloads and CNET do not not belong in the same sentence.Summary
If you can find the program elsewhere, download it from there, I no longer trust CNET not to include malware (or check their downloads) for malware.

First, I went kayaking and took lots of good pictures with my camera. Then, I needed my camera to take some pictures of flowers. My camera was having trouble with the card and kept asking to format the card. I was sure that I copied all of my kayaking pics to my computer so I reformatted. Only when I returned home did I realize that was not the case. I was completely dejected until I thought about trying to recover the images off of the card. I searched around for a few recovery programs. The SanDisk recommended program cost $40. A free alternative (PC Inspector Smart Recovery) came highly recommended by Cnet but didn't work on my computer. So I tried this next and it worked like a charm. The only pics I couldn't recover were the ones I overwrote with new pictures. All in all this is the best I could have hoped for.

There are no cons that I can think of , program worked perfectly and did exactly what it said it would do .

Excellent and efficient small program , which is why I had no problem making a donation , may never use it again , but the program helped me out by recovering all my deleted files , that to me is worth something .

I deleted my entire music file by mistake- just over 12GB's worth using shift/delete. I managed to recover over 90% using this prog. (the rest had already been overwritten), so I'm very happy with it!

This program didn't work for me, Win 8. I tried several: Card Recovery, worked fast but soon showed recovered pictures asked for $39. Wondershare worked fine for the cost of $35. Finally on google found Digital Image Recovery by Kelvin Tang. Worked without a hitch and truly free. Thank you Kelvin Tang.
