CNET Editors' review
You have many options for converting PDF files into Excel documents, depending on what software you already have, what the PDF contains, and what you expect as a finished product: everything from free Web-based tools to expensive pro tools and enterprise-level packages. Blue Label Software's PDF to Excel Converter falls somewhere in the middle, offering lots of speed and convenience, but at a significant cost, compared to the freeware.
PDF to Excel Converter's user interface is a nicely rendered variation on a common layout for tools of this type, with a tree view in a sidebar to the left of a file selecting list view, with a similar list view for batch jobs below. We looked for but couldn't find a Help file or even online instructions, but this tool isn't too hard to use: just browse to a folder, add one or more documents, and press Convert. After you've made your selections on the settings wizard, simply press Start. You can open finished files directly inside Excel from PDF to Excel Converter, too. Before we started, we reviewed the wizard's Properties and Security tabs. The Properties tab auto-formats cells by default, and we could also select automatic cell size or make manual choices. The Security tab let us set an optional user name and password combination to protect our workbooks. The captions and labels are clear, though a few terms didn't make the change from German to English (the two language choices).
We saw some bugginess with PDF to Excel Converter, especially in the PDF Viewer feature, which typically showed (Not Responding) when opening or closing; once or twice it took the program down with it when it crashed. But the converted files PDF to Excel Converter produced looked good, especially those best suited for converting to Excel documents, notably those with tables and lists. Others, like a camera manual we processed, are less useful, of course, but the program did a decent job on them. We always recommend trying free tools before buying shareware, and trying shareware before you buy it. That's the bottom line with PDF to Excel Converter, too.

"I like it!"
Version: PDF to Excel Converter 2.4
Pros
I have tried many programs which attempt to convert Excel spreadsheets to PDF, however, most fail to recognise the fact that different tabs might be portrait or landscape and also with different font sixes. This easy to use product does it seamlessly and it is easy to create a PDF file which includes both Word and Excel files.
Cons

"Great converter on complex documents"
Version: PDF to Excel Converter 2.4
Pros
Worked perfectly on a complex document.
Found columns in a page that had paragraphs and columns.
Fast, easy, no problems, no issues.Cons
Limited download time.
Have to pay for additional time to download.Summary
I was looking for an app to take on a pretty complex document. There were obvious columns within the data, but separated by paragraphs of text. Frankly, I couldn't really describe how to to the conversion, but the app figured it out.
I thought the best I could do is to get to a point I could edit it. I didn't need to. This app worked just fine. -
"Did not work"
Version: PDF to Excel Converter 2.4
Pros
It took some info from the pdf spreadsheet
Cons
It only took some of it and put it all wacky all over the page. Data was unusable and I had to retype everything by hand.

"You don't need this program."
Version: PDF to Excel Converter 2.4
Pros
Allows you to skip the "Oh, so difficult!" task of converting a pdf to txt before importing into Excel. (please note sarcasm)
Cons
This program doesn't offer any features that Adobe reader and Excel don't already have. I assumed this program would be able to recognize tables/cells being extracted from pdf as individual values; it can't.
Summary
Don't waste your time.

None that I have found.

"I think this is a good product"
Version: PDF to Excel Converter 2.4
Pros
This program did everything I asked it to. The resulting doc was easy to read/use.
Cons
I didn't like how it put each page on a different tab in excel. Like how I oculd change that option though (once I found it)
Summary
my cell phone bill is only available in PDF. This program worked great to get into a format that I could use to easily count/total mins, check frequent called #s, etc. The data from my phone bill is now helping me decide what plan will work best for me.
