Publisher's Description
From AHA! Software:
NoteCard is a friendly utility that teaches you to recognize musical notes. It's designed as an ideal tool for anyone in the first stages of learning to read music. It can shorten the time it takes to learn to recognize the notes--a necessary ability for fluent reading. NoteCard lets you practice the bass staff and the treble staff, or both at once. You can enter notes in any of three input modes, including piano keyboard style. The software also features detailed online help. This version is now a 32-bit version with a redesigned user interface, plus a new guitar-neck input graphic.

"Terrible for guitarists"
Version: NoteCard 2.0.1
Pros
This software is good for people trying to learn the notes on the staff in a very basic manner.
Cons
I have been playing guitar for a few years and decided to get this software so i could learn to read/write sheet music and apply it to the guitar. The guitar aspect of this software DOES NOT HAVE THE CORRECT NOTES ON THE FRETBOARD GOING PAST THE NUT, which defeats the purpose of having this aspect of the program.
Also, this program should play a MIDI of the correct note at the correct octave when it pops up on the staff, which would make it incredibly more useful and efficient to learn.

"Simple yet effective, includes everything, and is FREE"
Version: NoteCard 2.0.1
Pros
It has everything you really need to learn music, and it's easy to use levels allows you to progress at your own pace, without being overwhelmed, and you can't go wrong when it's free.
Cons
The overall look of the program isn't that great, but I guess that's because it doesn't cost anything

"Simple and effective tool"
Version: NoteCard 2.0.1
Summary
I recently started piano and was having trouble learning bass cleff. This program helps tremendously. Very good if you are trying to learn the notes on a guitar fretbaord as well. You can't go wrong by using this to learn. Easy to use and undertand.

"Doesn't match the features of it's competition."
Version: NoteCard 2.0.1
Summary
The features are sooo meager. There's a better system out there for the same price.
Take a look at Noteable if you're looking for a truly deep flashcard program. Noteable offers deep statistics, customized decks and the creation of multiple users. It also gives progress reports. -
"Can it play?"
Version: NoteCard 2.0.1
Summary
It is great to learn the names of music notes, or where they are on the piano keyboard. But I wanted to learn what the music sounds like for a certain note combination. This program does not enable that.
