Though we could have done without the product pushes, this comprehensive file encryption program left our files safe and secure.

MyWinLocker has a professionally designed user interface, but there's some wasted space thanks to the product advertisements. However, aside from those, we found the tab-style fairly easy to navigate. The encryption feature can be accessed several ways--through the main interface, by right-clicking on a specific file or folder, or through Windows Explorer. We like the option to use our master password or create a new one to encrypt the file. Test files were easily and successfully created, and we were able to decrypt them just as easily. As an added bonus, the program also features a personal storage disk option that lets you privately store your files. Novices will appreciate the ease of setting it up. And like the encryption and decryption features, we were able to quickly access it through the main interface or through our Windows Explorer.

The program did leave behind a few files that had to be manually removed after it was uninstalled. The ads on the interface are a small price to pay for this effective freeware, and we recommend for all users.

It no longer supported and I think it must be erase from download.com because after the 60 days trial you can not use it and what ever you store in the safe box it can't get to it ever

If you download this latest version it does not accept the old registration and when you click on BUY, you get a "Error 404" page. there is no longer any support for this product. If you are unfortunate enough to have encrypted files and wait beyond the trial date all files will be inaccessible. the program will require you to BUY which you cannot do.
Summary
My Winlocker was a very secure encryption program with a hidden "yo safe" which I have found great in the past and, I have used it for over 5 years. However, now Egis tech does not support the program and if you download the latest version, it will not accept your old registration. If you try to buy it to unlock your files, you cannot as it is no longer supported by Egis tech. Once the trial period runs out, there is no way to open Yo Safe or decrypt files without buying a registration key but .. you cannot buy one so, your files will be lost.

Tips for those looking to uninstall this #it: 1. Download and install "Revo Uninstaller" 2. Choose the "Force Uninstall" option (a button on the main bar) 3. Search for MyWinLocker in the program name field 4. It will find any left over Registry keys, and files buried in the file system. 5. Remove/delete ALL of those keys/files, **BUT BE CAREFUL WHEN MESSING WITH REGISTRY KEYS** 6. SUCCESS! 7. Optional: Uninstall Revo

Everything else. I didn't need it on a media PC, and removing it (after discovering that you have to tick the boxes in the "Install" window that appears in response to the "Uninstall" request!) freed up valuable space, and allowed the PC to run faster, as it seems the MyWinLocker processes are always running.

When you encrypt any file it makes an unencripted copy and leaves it in the c/users/user/appdata/local/temp/mywinlocker Making this application pretty much useless? Strange they overlooked this? Prob why its free on win7
