From Jeroen Kessels :MyDefrag is a disk defragmenter and optimizer (a maintenance utility to make your harddisk faster) for Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Vista, 2008, and for X64. It is freeware, with no time limit, and is fully functional with no advertisements. It is fast, with low overhead and many optimization strategies. It can handle floppies, USB disks, memory sticks, and anything else that looks like a disk to Windows. Included are a set of easy-to-use scripts for endusers, a scripting engine for demanding users, a screensaver, and a combined Windows plus command-line version that can be scheduled by the Windows task scheduler or for use from administrator scripts.
MyDefrag is based on the standard defragmentation API by Microsoft, a system library that is included in Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Vista, and 2008. Most defragmenters are based on this API, including the free defragmenter that comes with Windows and many commercial defragmenters.

Pros: Now tells you which file is on a certain part of the cluster map.
Cons: Not open source!
JK Defrag is open source and unfortunately, the last version of JK Defrag was released in August, 2008. :(Summary: I like the concept of open source-ness. And JK Defrag is KISS!
The only con that I really see with JK Defrag is that it's not aware of prefetch optimization. Prefetch was introduced with Windows XP.

"first class software which does what it says on the tin"
Pros: Utilities for refinement of defrag, speed of operation and excellent results. Better than many one has to pay for.
Cons: Nothing but praise for the software
Summary: Anyone will find this software easy to use, dependable and well worth using. I repair systems and have installed the software on many of these to the great satisfaction of the customers.

"free & the most comprehensive defragmenter you'll need"
Pros: You can fully control the placement of files on your disk, thanks to the powerful but still simple to use script language. Use it for fast daily or automated defragmentation or you can perform the most comprehensive defragmentation of disk free space
Cons: None to signal. The past performance issues for daily or automatic defragmentations have all dispareared.
