From Moleskinsoft :Clone Remover will detect file duplicates on your hard drives. Including ZIP and RAR archives. This duplicate file finder will help to searches for exact file duplicates. Clone Remover will also find duplicate files of a zero size and files with the same names and sizes. After a short search process, you can select the duplicates you do not need manually or use a special tool for quick file selection. You can remove the selected files, move them to the recycle bin, move or copy them to a certain folder.

Version: Moleskinsoft Clone Remover Free 1.9
Pros: The interface was easy and it worked very well in finding dupes (thousands came up) and not knowing which files I should delete, I really appreciated the "Remove Duplicate Files Automatically" (or something like that) feature and I figured I was home free. However...
Cons: ...Even with the "Protect System Files" featured enabled, I got a message saying some of the files being removed would cause Windows not to operate correctly and that I needed the Windows CD before I could continue. The original disc wasn't the one that worked and I assumed it was the Service Pack 2 disc that it was asking for. I couldn't cancel no matter how hard I tried and had to shut my computer down (which I didn't have). On reboot, my mouse wouldn't work (even in safe mode) and I had to re-register my version of Windows (twice) before I was able to get my computer back up. It was a nightmare, to say the least.

"Missing multiple drive searching and deleting"
Pros: It's free!
Cons: I did not try this program because I found that it only searches one drive at a time. I wanted to find duplicates between internal and external backup drive.

"Great small program that is fast and easy to use."
Pros: Program is fast on finding duplicate files and other things. I prefer this over their new version (and no not because this one is free).
Cons: Scrolling is faster with keyboard than mouse wheel. Displayed creation, modify, and access date all locked in same date, so you cannot go by that information.

Pros: It does as advertised. Finding duplicate files is pretty easy and the interface is functional and mostly intuitive.
Cons: It lacks some features that would be good for partial backup cleanup. For example, you cannot limit comparisons to only show files with the same relative path (say, c:\BLAH\xyz.txt matching e:\backups\2008-06\BLAH\xyz.txt, but not c:\test\clone.txt).
Summary: If all you want is a software to find cloned documents or duplicated DLLs in a single hard disk, without the need for advanced filtering used in backup management, go with this one. It'll do what you want with minimal effort. Otherwise, you'll have ... read more >>
