MirrorFolder is backup software for automatic synchronization and real-time mirroring of folder or drive from local to another local, network, or removable drive. Allows mirroring entire system drive to another internal drive in RAID-1 mode, and booting from the mirror drive. Supports mirroring opened database files in RAID-1 mode, and automatic archiving of older versions of files into separate ZIP files.
What's new in this version: Version 5.0.280 fixed default wild card file type was not working under the 'Restore' tab and when performing a manual synchronization under the Synchronize tab for a mirror with multi-threaded synchronization option enabled, and "Display only file names that required synchronization" option is enabled, the list view was not retaining/showing all updated file names issue.

Pros
Easy to set up, works well, easy to use, reliable. Does not use up a lot of system resources and works silently in the background. Great for backing up your data and mirroring your hard drives. Even works on internal networks.
Cons
None. Does everything I need.
Summary
I have this software installed on my home machine and work machine. It has never missed a back up. It is basically a synchronization software. It will even backup my camera memory cards automatically, never any lost photos.

I use MirrorFolder to back up my laptop every night to a network drive. So far, almost 1 year, it has worked flawlessly.

I haven't really had any problems and it appears that my data is all there. I do like the simple to use interface although I had to read the how to use it guide several times.
Cons
I am concerned about its integration with windows. I hope that MirrorFolder's stability is not dependent on Explorer; however, my guess is that it is. I am going to see if there are some better alternatives out there before I buy.

I have a copy of the email that was sent to tech support to verify all claims I make here. They do not have a US phone number to call.
I found this software for an engineering firm to keep a realtime copy of their electronic library and then have a scheduled backup. My client paid for this program because it appeared to be what they wanted. They called the next day and almost every file and folder that this program copied had been corrupted and the name had been changed. Fortunately they had a full copy to work from. I sent a detailed report including screenshots to their support. We never heard a word and they never were refunded their money.

"Excellent file/folder sync program"

Summary
This is by far one of the best file/folder sync programs on the market and I have look at a bunch of them. Its extremely intuitive and very fast. Don't know what version they other users on here tried but I am working with v2.0 downloaded on 10/29/03 and it works exactly as advertised. The only major short-coming I believe the program has is that there appears to be no way to see a list of all the folders you have set up for sync or to manually sync all of them in one shot.

"They forgot something"

Summary
I think they forgot to include a control panel to handle your backups. It integrates to Explore and allows you to right click a folder to mirror it. But once you mirrored your folders you can't use a control panel, a software to handle them. As specified in the manuel, there's NO MirrorFolder software : "you do not need to run an EXE file to use it". So there's no way for you to know which folders are mirrored. Once a folder is mirrored, you can't cancel the mirroring ! It's easy to use, the interface has an Explorer look and feel (only a tag from the Properties dialog anyway). Last but not least I don't appreciate it to mess with my folder icons.
