  This is the best software for comic book creation, offering everything you need from creating a page layout to drawing traditional-looking comic books with crisp clean ink outline and vibrant colors!

  Cons

  If you don't need 3D import and losless vector drawing you can go with the lite version and save ca, $200. I don't see any other cons ;-)

  Summary

  Excellent, innovative, and quite limitless, from start to finish. Combined with a digital tablet MS4 is The Best tool for full-digital comic artists. You can forget pencil drawing, scanning and cleaning sketches, and actually feel total freedom with this software, which I find extremely flexible and as good as Photoshop, when it comes to tools and brushes.

  Pros

  loved how smooth the lines are, a lot of interesting options for shading. extremely easy to use.

  crashes a lot. gets a bit frustrating, especially when your nearly done an illustration.. from what i can tell there is only one file format available to save it? i'm not sure if that has to do with the trial or because i didn't find it

• Great Drawing and Inking Tool For Comic Book Artists

  Set up for pencils and inking of pencils. You can scan in your "analog" sketches and work on them with the software. Options to use different "textures" and to draw and fill your images with them...

  Cons

  Not the easiest to learn and the tutorials are vague... Can only colour in black and white...(though version 4.0 adds the colour option)

  Don't let the "Manga" title scare you! It isn't just for the Japanese style comic books. Manga Studio EX 3.0 is an excellent program for those who have any desire to go digital in the making of their comic books. Used by professionals in the comic book industry (many use it for the inking ability alone) Mike Norton (artist on more than a few comics atm) used it for the recent 24 hour comic book challenge. Where he wrote drew and inked a full story in 24 hours! The only thing the software doesn't do is give me talent! There are two versions of this program that have been released in the past year as Manga Studio Debut 4.0 and Manga Studio EX4 They main improvement is the ability to colour your pages. If you want to try the lastest version for 30 days you have to give your credit card number and cancel it before the end of the 30 days or you will be charged for the software. I don't like this "negative billing" feature but think that you can try this 3.0 version and if it floats your boat than just buy the Manga Studio Debut 4 version which you can find for 30 to 40 dollars on the web!

  It's good for digital art in general as well as manga art.

  The downfall is that it's better, easier and more effective to use if you have a drawing tablet. A mouse doesn't quite cut it.

  Pros

  I am a new user but find this a great tool. Most of the interface is 'Photoshop-like" making it intuitive. Besides the comic/manga specific layout, text and texture tools I just find it produces great lines when I draw with my Wacom in it or scan in my line art to trace.

  Cons

  I'm still new, so maybe I missed it, but I would love if it could export as Illustrator or Flash files so I could do all my drawing in it.
