Publisher's Description
From Trance Software:
LineBreak is drag-and-drop application written in Cocoa to convert text files to a specified line break format (UNIX, Mac, or Windows/DOS). It has the following features:
- Clean interface.
- Converts documents quickly.
- Drag and drop. Works great from the dock.
- Batch conversions by dragging multiple files and/or folders onto LineBreak's icon.
- You have the option to preserve modification dates
- Works even when there are different kinds of line breaks in the same source document.
- Protects against the corruption of non-text documents. You can even make your own rules!
- Written in Objective C using the Cocoa API.
- Licensed under the GNU GPL. This means it is really free and source code is included!
What's new in this version:
- Fixed several crashes, no more known crashes.
- Improved error handling and notification.
- Small UI improvements.
- Compiled with a better compiler, gcc 4.0.1.
- Now requires Mac OS X 10.4.0 or higher.
- Source code is much improved in terms of organization and readability.

"There's simple, and then there's mute"
Version: LineBreak 2.8
Pros
It seems to do what it's supposed to, at least for smaller files
Cons
There are few (if any) messages about what it will do, or what it's done, and it fails entirely (without any message) on big files
Summary
Drop a file on the LineBreak icon, and NOTHING appears to happen. There are no messages before, during or after the conversion. Theonly way you know that anything happened at all is by noting that the program launched and then quit, or by inspecting the text file. The worst part of this is that you are given no clear idea if the conversion succeeded or failed. In particular, dropping a large text file on LineBreak failed. Perhaps there is a size limit, perhaps it's all done in-memory? When it fails, you have no message to tell you that.
