Offering standard and proprietary compression options, LEAD's MCMP / MJPEG Video Codec is a multimedia compressor/decompressor which registers into the Windows collection of multimedia drivers and integrates with any application using DirectShow and Microsoft Video for Windows. Existing video software, such as Windows Media Player and Ulead Media Studio, can utilize this codec to play, create and edit industry standard MJPEG and LEAD's proprietary MCMP files. Developed by LEAD as an alternative to standard compression algorithms, MCMP delivers smaller file sizes and can maintain better image quality than MJPEG with the same or better image quality.

Version 1.1 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Don't use propritary codecs

It's a nice simple codec with good compression rates on AVI files. However, it is proprietary and according to LeadTools own site, depreciated.
Cons
It's proprietary, you're better off using something more modern.

Great Quality compression, and improved the visual quality of a few Divx files that were slightly Jerky Before.

People who don;t know what a codec is will not see what this is doing... Why would you be expecting an application??? Maybe if you read the description...

1.5MB and all I got was 2 shortcuts to LEAD website.. What the...?? Shortcuts lead to: "capture and convert" website where you had to pay USD89.00 for the full version. Tried but still couldn't download the evaluation software, it says "The evaluation setup is being updated and is not available at this time. Please check back soon. We apologize for this inconvenience." -- at least they apologized.. take it off the download.com site until it's updated then!!! --now I have to scan my drive for any spywares. Double thumbs down

Its not really an application, its just an app with links to download an application. It brings you to the LDEAD site and has a list of different LEAD codec software you can download IF you pay. Ive spent 20 minutes trying to convert a stupid avi, and this is just a hassle. DONT GET THIS!!!
