• The dice lie

  Once or twice a session, it refuses to score a roll correctly, making the game aggravating and frustrating. Recently, it refused to score an all-3 Jahtzee. A bug report to the developer resulted in the following response: "...indeed this is a bug. Somewhere around OSX 10.4, the Quicktime playback (each die is a little movie) got flaky and so one of those dice is not actually a three internal to the program, but the movie stuck. You can actually see [which die is wrong] because the top and right faces look different than the other 4 dice."

  Somnetimes does not register when a 3 is thrown which is especially frustrating when a "Jahtzee" in 3's is thrown! It would be better if the the game simply defaulted to the last player without having to confirm but with an option to change players.

  I have played this game for some time now but have finally become so frustrated with the 3 issue that I have removed it from my dock.

Four of the same value may only show three, etc. Sometimes credit isn't given for the actual value of the dice. The mathematics is a little buggy, also not clicking a die to keep doesn't always let the die spin. Kind of wierd to watch. Price is great.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I am a bit of a yahtzee connoisseur having spent way too many hours over many years playing it, and this is one of the nicest iterations of the game I've seen. I used to get upset with my previous version when I accidentally hit the wrong scorebox and there was no undo. The double click to confirm the score eliminates this (though I think that there should also be an option or preference to confirm the entry on the first click, with an UNDO for an error) and it scores slightly differently from the one I'm used to, but overall, this is the best layout I've seen in terms of the way I like to play the game. This version only needs minor refinement overall to be 'shareware' in my opinion. 4 stars for beta and an additional 1/2 star for differentiating from other *ahtzee games. Remember: 'The 'game' is all about its simplicity'

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Probably one of the best yahtzee version available. I dig the dice! But I agree with the previous reviewer, needs multiple Yahtzees and to disable roll button. Also, I like a special sound affect when you place a Yahtzee.
