This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Nice game, so far it seems pretty solid to me. There's a few quirks missing though, as is much of the frosting. I like the ability to set a custom card background.
Dragging an ace to its slot doesn't work; it has to be double-clicked. Apparently their slots are fixed as well, not sure if this is normal behavior or not (say, to have slot 1 and slot 3 with aces instead of placing the second ace picked up into slot 2, regardless of suit).
I can't see where the ace slots are either. There's the cards, the re-deal button when you get to it, and the New Game button. Please consider adding a background of some sort, and indentations in said background for where the aces would go.
Nifty 'win game' animation, though the graphics are somewhat blocky and leave as much white artifact space as they do their image.
There's a bunch of frilly stuff too, if you want more suggestions.
- Round off the very edges of the cards, instead of having perfect rectangles.
- Graphics are a little awkard, could be tidier. Still, they serve their purpose.
- When moving a card off of a stack, the card beneath it doesn't automatically flip over. Could add an option in the Preferences for this.
- No little mini-animations are present, as with grabbing three cards from the remainder of the deck to spread visible (sorry, not a solitare guru, don't know the technical term for it) or flipping over and replacing for the re-deal, nor anything to indicate a new game other than reset/new card positions.
- I'm not sure why there's that extra space on the right. Might want to remove it if it serves no purpose since it does take up space.
- Support for Undo. Essential solitaire ability.
Nonetheless, nice game. Thanks for developing it. Still rough around the edges, but it works.
