"Even I was able to figure it out!"
Version: HTML-Kit Build 292
Pros
I was able to check the preview pane after each change of code. That way I was able to catch my mistakes right away.
Cons
I had to use Selteco FTP to upload my files because I couldn't figure out how to upload from HTML Kit.
Summary
I'll continue to use this program to maintain my site. It does everything but hold my hand.

"Stay away!!! No support"
Version: HTML-Kit Build 292
Pros
Since I can't get a code, I have no idea how good it is...
Cons
I paid 2 weeks ago and still haven't received a code. Emailed their support team 3 times, no response. Great business practice - instantly deduct the $60 from the account and then disappear.
Summary
If you want to get support, or even an unlock code, find another software package.

"Good HTML editor with CSS support"
Version: HTML-Kit Build 292
Pros
Good free HTML editor that can also assist in CSS. Able to preview without leaving program. NOT a wysiwyg editor, so is good for people who know HTML and want to streamline code.
Cons
Does not have a side-by-side preview, to see changes instantly. Sometimes the menus and multitude of options can be overwhelming.
Summary
I used to use "Eversoft First Page 2006" but have been disappointed by the frequency of program crashing. It also does not do a very good job of helping with CSS programing. HTML Kit fills the gap here. It does a good job with CSS and XHTML code and I have not had it crash yet.
It is a free program, and as such does a great deal. If you want a program that does more, you may need to look into a professional program. If you want a program that can help with the writing of code, this is the one. -
"A very well-designed, user-friendly HTML editing tool"
Version: HTML-Kit Build 292
Pros
Intuitive UI, color-coding, nice little touches like the find/replace feature keeping track of recent changes, support for scripts and lots of other things that I don't understand (yet)
Cons
Certain features (eg, the ability to format lists) are not as complete as they could be--relatively common styles have to be applied manually.
Summary
I don't usually post reviews online--I rarely have a strong enough opinion one way or another--but HTML Kit is just too good, I had to give it some love. I'm strictly an amateur--learning HTML from the ground up--but HTML kit has proved extremely helpful and powerful. I tried a few other editing programs (from the obvious Notepad to the apparently popular Notepad++), but this was the best.
