GoneIn60s is a neat little program that makes those Homer Simpsonesque "D'oh!" moments where you close Firefox instead of iTunes a thing of the past. Weighing in at a hefty 206KB, Gone keeps closed programs running in your RAM for an additional 60 seconds after you hit that red X.
Once running, Gone lives in your Taskbar as a yellow lightning bolt. After you close a program, right-clicking on the icon will give you a list of recently closed programs that you can reopen, without any information being lost. Double-clicking on the icon will rescue all recently closed programs.
The program has a lot going for it. You can actually customize the time period, and we were able to fend off losing apps for 200 seconds. Gone has a customizable blacklist of programs that you don't want it to save when you close them--it comes preloaded with Notepad.exe--and it has a "kill windows" option that prevents it from saving changed documents. When I exited Gone, it reopened the last closed program--a strange bug, but not one that interferes with the program's effectiveness.
Lightweight, effective, and loaded with some useful features, GoneIn60s will help you keep your cool under the pressure of accidental red X clicks.

Version: GoneIn60s 1.3
"Useful and original, but you have to know how to use it (read my explanation)"
Pros: The idea is really original and good. When you click X in the window, it hides the window and after the time (60 secs by default) the program closes the application. That's ok for programs like Internet Explorer, Calculator, Media players and any other software that is not an editor (for example Notepad, Excel, etc.). Read my "Cons" below to understand why.
It has no installation wizard (just copy it to a folder), so no unistall is necessary, just delete the folder.
Cons: There is no documentation at all, so I've to figured out the behavior.
You should add a lot of exceptions... Word, Excel, Visual Studio, etc. Why? Because these programs are already asking to you if you are sure of clossing without saving. With this soft running, if you click on the X of Word without saving, you don't get the warning, and normally the application will hang without beeing able of showing to you your opinion. Otherwise, you have to change your habbits... for example if you want to close Word you have to go to the menu and click File / Quit. This way "Gone in 60" doesn't influence in the standard behavior.

Version: GoneIn60s 1.3
Pros: First off this is NOT malware, I scanned the file with virusscan.jotti.org/ and found no threats.
This program works by minimizing / hiding closed programs in the taskbar then closing them 60 sec after you actually click the close button...
Worked for me with no problems at all, love how customizable it is, allows you to set programs not to save and a time limit other then the default 60 sec.
Cons: The program is not an installer, when you run it it creates a text configuration file in whatever folder it was run.
Fix:
Download and save the file in a folder like "C:\Program Files\Gone in 60\" then copy and paste a link into the start menu - If you want it to run at startup paste the link into the "Startup" folder in the start menu.
I would have given this program 5 stars but for it's lack of n00b friendly features like a self-installer or a help file although it's so simple to use I dont really see much need.
