GMER also allows to monitor the following system functions: processes creating, drivers loading, libraries loading, file functions, registry entries, TCP/IP connections.

Pros: Free
Others have had successCons: Risky - could put your PC out of commission.
Summary: Programs that dig deep into the system can be risky to use. This one froze my Win XP SP3 system. I had to pull the plug to restart it after which I got messages never before seen on restart and had to reset the clock. System restore failed. After re... read more >>

Pros: Very good and simple program to use to detect and remove rootkits
Cons: Kinda slow
Summary: Pretty good, used it to remove rootkits from my laptop that my Norton Internet Security 2010 didn't detect.
