CNET Editors' review
The word free in the title doesn't mean this Internet video player is freeware. It means you don't have to pay to watch channels of Internet TV. Free Internet TV packs RealMedia and Windows Media decoders into an attractive, easy-to-use interface and offers an automatically updated list of TV channels.
The channels are sorted by country, and you can instantly see the bit rate of each. Thanks to the Favorites feature, you won't have to search for a channel every time. Of course, you can easily do without Free Internet TV if you have Real Player and Windows Media Player installed on your computer--and who doesn't? But Free Internet TV doesn't bury you under a host of settings, and it removes the chore of looking for channels. Those are small but real benefits.
Though it's definitely not a must-have, Free Internet TV is a perfectly adequate way to watch your favorite shows online.

"So far no good"
Version: Free Internet TV 8.0
Pros
None. Haven't been able to watch anything in my home country (U.S.) or abroad.
Cons
Nothings to see
Summary
I've had this thing for an hour. So far, none of the channels are available. My computer and software are up-to-date. Not happy about it.

"I does well at what it says it does"
Version: Free Internet TV 8.0
Pros
It's free. It works and allows access to a number of TV shows. It doesn't claim to replace cable and it doesn't. For free, it is hard to find much fault.
Cons
You have to wade through a lot to find what you want, but once you know what you want to see, it isn't hard to get back to it.
Summary
Good basic software that does what it says, but no more.
-
