Publisher's description
From Johan Krüger :From the developer: ""File Sorting Utility is speciallized for renaming and sorting mp3 files. But it can actually sort any kind of files. FSU reads and writes ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags and can create filenames based on these and a userdefined pattern. FSU can add/remove/fix ID3 tags to perfection for you. By fixing means that FSU figures out the artist, title, track, album... and puts them in ID3 tags. Some features: mass-tagging, built-in player, rename files directly in windows explorer.""

Version: File Sorting Utility 1.25
"Changed names and edited ID3 tags"
Pros: Changed the name of multiple MP3 files and changes the ID3 tags all correctly. Small download, easy instal.
Cons: Very confusing .zip file. Has tons of files that seem not to be used. The instal does not work. You must open the file from the zip file always, unless you transfer every file yourself to your computer.
Even the front page for this sorftware is messed up. Definitely a beginner program, not recommended for your file and ID3 editor.

Version: File Sorting Utility 1.25
"Evidently Some People Here Don't Know How To Use This Program"
Pros: I've had this program for a few months now. I had about 700 mp3's whose titles were incomplete (Just song titles -- no artist). Luckily the tags indicated the Artist and Track Title. It renamed all 700 in less than 5 seconds. And you can configure the renaming template any way you want.
So as long as your tags are intact, FSU recognizes them and renames them. Insofar as installing it: it was a snap. Evidently some people here don't know how to extract their files. I now have an icon on my desktop and one in my Quicklaunch.
Plus, it's a very small program. It doesn't eat up your hard drive.
Cons: Unless I'm missing something, tagging isn't as intuitive as it is with other tagging programs. But that's a negligible drawback considering the myriad benefits.

Version: File Sorting Utility 1.25
"Quite Good; Sorts files very fast."
Pros: Simple to use (RTFM). Does what it says. Avoids creating multiple-deep directories for one obscure song. Very Speedy. (NOTE: I did *NOT* use this for ID tagging manipulations; just moving and sorting files.)
Cons: Does not deal well with corrupt files (well....whaddya want fer nuthuin?).
Would be nice to rename duplicate files when moving....(but...see above :p )

"Terrible, errored a bunch. crashed after 2 min"
Pros: Good shot. Liked the disclaimer in the readme file "I am not responisible for what this does to your computer" (thats why its free)
Cons: crash burn crash burn, error msg # 5 prorgam crash. Try and remove tags computer crash. burn burn burn.

Version: File Sorting Utility 1.25
Pros: I could not have asked for more from this program, I sorted 700 songs in a matter of seconds. It quickly sorted all my music into artist-title.mp3. It also does the Tagging for you.
