Publisher's description
From Qualcomm :Eudora is a mail and news application based on the open source Thunderbird client from Mozilla. It's not developers' intention to compete with Thunderbird; rather, they want to complement it. Qualcomm is committed to both preserving the Eudora user experience and to maintaining maximum compatibility, for both developers and users, with Thunderbird. Release 8.0b6 includes Penelope version 0.5a3 and is using Thunderbird 3.0b2 source code.

Version: Eudora 8.0b6 beta
Pros: Look and feel close to t-bird
Cons: preferred t-bird version 2
Summary: used it temporarily when t-bird 3 gave me problems, then I reloaded t-bird 2

Version: Eudora 8.0b6 beta
Pros: No worse than the others I have tried
Cons: wonky or just not easily understandable
Summary: Since Outlook Express can not be installed on a Windows 7 computer, I have been searching for an e-mail program to replace it. I have tried Microsoft Mail, Thunderbird and Eudora. They all have the same disadvantage of being wonky in the same ways.... read more >>

Version: Eudora 8.0b6 beta
"Does everything & more than earlier versions of Eudora"
Pros: Ease of setting up sub-folders
Cons: Don't seem to be able to set up a separate Root Account folder, eg, home account and work-from-home account: nor able to set 'request receipt' to different email addresses: seems to be all or none?
Summary: Perhaps best feature is that as a dedicated email programme I don't have to suffer unwanted 'news' and 'advertising'. It's almost 'intuitive' to use.

Version: Eudora 8.0b6 beta
"Not bad, can only use safe version"
Pros: Everything seems to work fine
Cons: The full version became unusable so now I only use the safe version, which now works fine.

Version: Eudora 8.0b6 beta
Pros: If it is anything like Eudora 4.2 which I have used for years, then I have got a winner.
I will need a few more days of action to qualify my one line summary.Cons: TBA (to be announced).
Summary: More time to assess and then I will give a full and complete review.
