Edraw Max enables students, teachers, and business professionals to reliably create and publish kinds of diagrams to represent any ideas. Edraw provides you a versatile, easy, quick and professional solution to let you enjoy your working. In a corporate environment, the folks over in human resources need to be able to create organizational charts, some business presentations, and maybe some directional maps and building floorplans to guide visitors through the facility. Or purchase two separate graphics programs for each department's special needs and hope that your company approves the purchase? What about none of the above? Edraw Max lets you create charts and diagrams to suit all of these requirements.
Edraw Max is an all-in-one diagram software that makes it simple to create: Flowchart, Process, List, Circular Diagram, Marketing Chart, Cause and Effect Diagram, Engineering Diagram, Circuit Diagram, BPMN Diagram, SDL Diagram, Network Diagram, Cisco Network Design, Organizational Chart, Family Tree, Block Diagram, Pie Diagram, Target Diagram, SWOT Diagram, Pear Diagram, Building Plan Diagram, Business Chart, Fashion Design, Swimlane Diagram, Workflow, Value Steam Mapping, Audit Diagram, TQM Diagram, Directional Map, Geo Map, Scientific Illustration, Gantt Chart, Timeline, Matrix Scheme, Calendar Mark, PERT Chart, Web Diagram, UML Diagram, ERD Diagram, Data Flow Diagram, Mind Map, Home Floor, Business Form, Flyer Design, Business Card, Windows UI Design and IDEF Diagram. What's new in this version: Version 6.3 added the smart drawing guide for mind map diagram type. "Good Diagram Software for Students and Professionals"
Version: Edraw Max 6.3
Pros
Edraw MAX is a diagram and presentation program designed for students and professionals alike. With it users can create any type of drawings such as flowcharts, network diagrams, presentations, building plans, fashion designs, workflows, program structures, UML, web design, electrical engineering, database diagrams, and more.
It has a library of pre-made diagrams and over 4600 symbols, according to EdrawSoft. The user interface is really friendly, unlike Visio's or DIA's, and the shapes are fully customizable. Additionally, it integrates with other MS Office applications like Word or Excel.Cons
This software is much more friendly, has a lot of pre-designed templates

"Useless if you actually want to use what it creates."
Version: Edraw Max 6.3
Pros
Fairly straight forward and intuitive on creation.
Cons
Annoying: When you are editing and have text written on a link there is sometimes an error where it will, for no apparent reason, show text from another link also. Only appears in the editor so you can save and close the file and then reopen it to make your link text appear normal.
Useless: There are several problems with exporting.
1)Text has strange spacing issues, most noticeable with the lowercase w, that make words appear to have additional spaces in them. "Stairway" would look like "S ta ir w ay" for example.
2)If the program decides your export file will be too big it will shrink the image to what it considers useful WITHOUT NOTICE. If it reaches the end of it's ability to shrink then it will give a blank error message. I spent quite a bit of time thinking all the sizing options were useless because I kept ending up with the same image. If you are making something that is going to be larger than a few standard pieces of paper then the size you want becomes irrelevant.Summary
If for some reason file size is relevant then it would have been nice to have the option to divide the image into several files. At least a pop-up saying something like "Your image is too large. We cannot cope with what you are dealing with. As such we are shrinking this to XX% of its original size." Such a message would have saved me many hours wasted trying to get this to fit my needs.
With those cons it is actually easier and faster to use this program to generate some shapes for you and then use them in MS Paint to make your chart there. If these were problems in version 6.3 I would have to see what sort of issues were in earlier versions.
Defiantly not worth the price that they are asking. But since they wasted my time I feel I need to lower some of their profit. If you intend to purchase this (I cannot imagine why you would as you will be spending more time fixing it's product then you did creating it.) then make sure you wait till the end of the trial period as the program will prompt a discounted price as you near the limit.
