not needed - its ok - little slow - can use irfanview
goyuntuybdrv- Pros
- works small in size
- Cons
- can use irfanview instead with more funtionallity. plus it dumps frames to .bmp format which is very large. if you want to convert frames back to gif some programs may not use .bmp format, irfanview can split a gif and convert frames to a HUGE number of different formats! plus alot more. >>> www.irfanview.com
- Summary
Fast, simple, does what it says
_Liann_- Pros
- Instantly splits GIF anims into individual pictures. Free. Fast. Easy install.
- Cons
- Makes pics bmp or windows bitmap images, which require changing back to gifs for reassembly.
- Summary
- Did what I needed, gave access to anim frames so I could insert additional frames, and/or resize frames.
Not fancy but it worked!
JoeEH- Pros
- It doesn't have a fancy interface, but it did split an animated GIF I had into it's components so I could make minor modifications and then put them back together with another program.
- Cons
- None really, just follow instructions.
- Summary
- I had an animated GIF that didn't have a transparent background. My graphic editor can make single images have a transparent background, but no an animated one. So this let me split is up, make each element have a transparent background and then I could use another program to put them back together again.
Big waste of time
JustRosy- Pros
- The above "positive" feedbacks must be hacks, 'cause it's bologna.
- Cons
- All it does is leave a single .gsm file that no program can open, which apparently is some kind of list of the frames that have been left in the .gif file. There are no individual images made from the .gif file!
- Summary
- Don't bother with this one.
Great Program to Split GIFs
JDBraz- Pros
- Simple and quick small program to split gif files.
- Cons
- None I have found ... does exactly as stated.
- Summary
- You give it the location of the input gif file, tell it where to output the split images, check or uncheck for adding background color or if you want auto fill, and hit the "split now" button. Free with no added junk - Thank you XoYo Software!!!
good program, it worked for my needs perfectly
mezandria- Pros
- it is very quick and easy to use, you just open it up and select the file you want split, and it exports them as separate images. Very useful!! :)
- Cons
- nothing that I can see
- Summary
Great program
STRAYKINGFISHER- Pros
- I like that it does exactly what it says it does, it splits gifs into their individual components and doesn't add any lettering saying who split the pictures.
- Cons
- I haven't found anything I don't like about it yet.
- Summary
Splits Animated Gifs Very well
animalxingfan- Pros
- you just load the animated gif and it splits it
- Cons
- it doesnt let you choose their filename.
