When you add a new hard drive or SSD to your system, you must format and partition it before you can use it. The best tool for the job is a full-featured disk partition manager, which can not only format and partition drives but repartition them, too, or change the partition type when your needs change; for instance, if you should move your C drive to an SSD, you can repartition the old drive for media storage. EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition is just such a tool. Unlike some so-called free disk partition managers, EaseUS Partition Master is a full-featured disk utility that is powerful enough to actually be useful.
We liked EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition the last time we looked at it, but it's easier to use than ever. The start screen includes an optional User's Guide, which we opened. Its headings describe what Partition Master can do: Extend System Partition, Merge Partitions, Convert Dynamic Disk to Basic Disk, Convert Primary to Logical Partition, and Copy Disk. Each operation is explained in both video and step-by-step tutorials. Next we clicked Go to Main Screen, which opened a clean, attractive interface sporting a classic disk manager layout, including table and graph data views, and with a welcome absence of oversize graphics. In addition to the main functions, Partition Master can also change labels, defragment disk and partitions, check your partitions, and create bootable CDs. A toolbar icon labeled Backup Tool doesn't access a feature but instead opens a link to download EaseUS Todo, a free backup tool we've used and recommend. You can also set a password to protect your disks, if necessary (or merely prudent).
EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition lived up to our expectations. We recommend starting with the Wizard menu, which provides easy-to-understand wizards for the three of the trickiest yet commonest tasks: Cloning a disk, copying a partition, and recovering a lost or damaged partition. And remember to back up any data you want to keep before you tinker with a partition! We like EaseUS Partition Master enough to make it our No. 1 partitioning tool.

Easy to use, with just about every function an average user would need. Excellent tutorials should you need help or just want to learn more about disk partitioning. Particularly intuitive interface makes it a pleasure to use.

This is how software should work, especially in an area that's a little esoteric for the average user. Like their excellent backup software, Easeus has made their Partition Master amazingly easy to use. The fact that it's free just makes it that much better. (This is the way to get people who want or need extra features to buy your paid versions: make your free versions really, really good.) Great job, Easeus ! Thank you for this excellent program !

Did the job without hassles. I was on the point of considering re-installing the OS - and that would have meant loads of work re-installing other programs. Now I have lots more room on the C partition. Thanks Partition Manager.

Lost all my data. This program has great reviews. I have no idea why I lost all my data. I put windows back in, then try to retrieve my desktop, with the hope of it being done quickly. Everything was lost. My whole external hard drive.
Summary
Lost data. If I had done something wrong I have no idea what it could be. Why backup data when all data is stored on hard drive when a person puts windows back in. Its all in a separate folder anyway, that is to say, if a person is to have the foresight to create a folder which is on the c: drive.

Summary
There are others tools built in that work great, but the one that got my attention was "Surface Test" which uses chkdsk.exe but it it pops up from the GUI then when it's finished the bad sector test has GI which show the progress. The point is, chkddsk takes forever from Windows and all the while, for hours you're wondering what's happening. The GU look like old W95 when defragging. It is nice to simply know the state progress.

"This program was a life saver!"

Easy to use and very reliable. It allowed me to successfully convert my Dynamic hard drive I was recovering back to a Basic disk for use in my Windows 7 machine.
Cons
My only con is that I regret not finding this program sooner. It could have saved me hours of time trying to recover my Dynamic partition.
Summary
I had a drive that I thought I backed up before the computer crash. It was setup as a Dynamic disk and showed invalid when I plugged it into my new computer. No backup and it wouldn't read the data. After many hours searching how to recover data from a Dynamic disk I came across the Easus Partition Master Home Edition. It converted my dynamic back to a basic disk without data loss. I was happily relieved!
