Digeus Junk Files Cleaner is an easy-to-use program that scans for and deletes unneeded files that can negatively impact your computer's performance. Although the program has the potential to be very useful, as with all programs of this type, users will want to be very careful about what they delete.
The application's interface is quite basic and easy to understand. A series of check boxes allows users to select what kind of files they want to scan for, including temporary files, invalid shortcuts, obsolete items in Program Files, empty folders, and so-on. The program then performs the scan and provides a list of file names, along with the file type and size, that it has determined to be junk. Users simply uncheck the files that they don't want to delete, click the Delete button, and the program trashes the rest. The program is thorough--it found quite a few junk files on our computer -- but novice users especially will want to be wary of deleting everything that the program comes across. The program means well, but it isn't necessarily capable of making decisions about which files definitely are junk. Beginners might want to do some research or ask a more experienced friend before they go deleting files willy-nilly. The program's built-in Help file does a good job of offering basic instructions, but it won't tell you what files you should and should not delete.
Digeus Junk Files Cleaner is free to try, but the trial version only deletes five files per scan. The program installs a desktop icon without asking and, ironically, leaves a folder behind upon removal. We recommend this program to all users.
How many junk files does your computer have? Do you often notice that your PC just doesn't run as smoothly as it used to? Each time you use your computer, temporary files and junk files can pile up behind-the-scenes. Over time these files can take up huge amounts of space on your computer and cause your system to run slowly. Unless you remove junk files your PC could be much slower than it should be. You'd be amazed at how much space these junk files take up. Windows applications create several files on your hard drive for temporarily storing the data. These files are supposed to be removed when application terminates. Often, however, the temporary files are not removed because of a program error or careless architecture, because your system was reset or not shut down properly, or because another application has stopped responding or crashed. It is important to know that any file which is left behind in this manner will remain on your system unless you manually search and remove it. Over time, these junk and obsolete files can accumulate to megabytes of wasted hard drive space, as well as turn into potential error-producing cross-linked drive references. Digeus Junk Files Cleaner is the easy answer to all your junk files problems. You will free up disk space by deleting junk files that are no longer used by any program on your system. With Digeus Junk Files Cleaner you'll see immediate increases in performance and decreases in system conflicts.
