Here's a handy little application that performs its basic functions well, and what's more, it's free. However, if you're looking for a more robust utility, don't get too excited by the price tag as you'll be disappointed with the features. DeluxeFTP offers a basic set of features and settings for downloading and uploading to FTP servers. There are no macros, scheduling or secure protocol support, but the program can download/upload several files at once to and from multiple FTP servers. Also, DeluxeFTP can resume a transfer once it's been interrupted. We like the basic interface, and you can move and hide any window or panel you're not using. The only downside is pesky dialog boxes that seem to pop up every time you transfer a file. Overall, DeluxeFTP gets a thumbs-up for ease of use and reliability.Publisher's description
From DeluxeFTP :Unlike other Free FTP clients, DeluxeFTP does not force you to view ads, registration reminders, or unwanted e-mail advertisements, nor does it limit you based upon time or personal use. Its features include a look and feel similar to Explorer, custom FTP commands, a connection wizard, dockable windows, and it works with folders and proxies. It features an enhanced site manager, full drag-and-drop support, concurrent downloads, folder bookmarks, resume support, and automatic retry.

Version: DeluxeFTP 6.0.1
"Small File Size, Fast & Clean Install, Works Well, FREE !!!"
Pros: The small size and quick download/install is nice. Easy to configure and use. Drag'n'drop, multiple file transfer, directory creation/maintenance all work well. Notifies and queries you on file overwrites. Graphic user interface is fine (I'd been using an ftp shell with text prior to this).
In reference to previous reviews about speed, it seems fast enough for me - I have a cable modem.
I haven't had time to explore all the features, but it seems to be a nice, compact tool that does the job. I'm quite happy with the tool.
All in all, a nice tool at a very reasonable price (FREE).

Version: DeluxeFTP 6.0.1
"Free, small file, 1 min to install, setup and go"
Pros: Free; small filesize; easy to install, set up and start ftp'ing in about 1 min.
Cons: Like the previous reviewer it does appear somewhat slow - but again I am on dialup so can't fully judge this.

Version: DeluxeFTP 6.0.1
Pros: Windows Explorer-like layout
Cons: Consistantly bungles uploads of html files: the program says that an upload was successful, whilst indicating that 105% (or 112%, or 101%...) of the file was uploaded - much of the time, I have to upload a file more than once to guarantee a correct transfer.

"That's BS, it doesn't install anything other than what is suppose to"
Pros: Look at it's size, 244.64K, if it had adware it would be a lot bigger than that. ravivenkatesh1 is triing to stear people away, and probably closer to a product of his which probably has adware. I've been using DeluxeFTP for years, since it first came out. It is a really great File Transfer Protocol. It has all of the same effects as Windows Explorer, basically, which is what I want. I wouldn't want something that would take a couple of hours to learn how to use. Once you have installed it, Goto File -> Connection Wizard, the wizard will come up, put in a name. This can be any name. This name doesn't have anything to do with anything except to you. Click Next after the name. In the next field, it's asking for the Host address, that will be:
ftp.angelfire.com
Click Next, and the next screen asks for your username and password. Do not check the anonymous box. Click next, and the next screen will ask of the Download Folder. This folder will be for this account, and everytime you connect into this account DeluxeFTP will goto that folder. Click next, and the next screen will ask to add to favorites. This is just for DeluxeFTP, and not your internet browser bookmarks. Click next, and the next screen will ask you if you want to connect now. Check the box, and click finish. This is an example. That it, it's that easy. Now you can drag and drop you way to you higher being.
Cons: I do agree with some of the other writers, that if you don't delete your original item from the web site before you upload the new item, it will merge them together making them unreadable or corrupt. I also think that the program needs an update to fix those kind of problems, but it hasn't been updated since 2005, which could mean that the author may have passed away to a better program. They used to update it about monthly. I really have no bad issues with this program. It's really easy to use. Besides uploading, and downloading, it can rename, move, delete, copy, explorer, and just about anything else I would want an FTP to do.
