• Absolutely terrible and Unintuitive

  Pros

  After 15 attempts if finally recognized my phone.

  Cons

  Right off the bat, couldn't register my product. Had to do searches to download a fix. It took me lots of attempts to have phone recognized by software. After phone recognized, it took more trial and error to have it find my contacts. Now that I have my contacts, there are no instruction of how to transfer them to the new phone.

  Summary

  Software is a waste of money, poorly designed, and am surprised that it actually worked for anyone.

  Pros

  There are no positives to this software.

  Cons

  Would not import recurring Outlook appointments. Hangs when attempting to read computer file from Outlook. Updates only made the problem worse.

  Summary

  I had Data Pilot on my old XP computer and it worked well. This new version 7.12 would only import last years calendar with no recurring appointments. When I got the latest updates, it would hang when attempting to read any Outlook files. Now it doesn't work at all. I emailed Data Pilot's tech support via their tech support section and never received any responses.

  Well, it doesn't work. And you have to pay extra for tech support...ya, seriously. "Have your credit card ready" if you call tech support.

  Pros

  Nice looking CD. Heard great things about the software online by others.

  Cons

  Still waiting for the serial number!!! I ordered this CD sometime in August 2010 after I gave up my Nextel I880 for a Sprint family plan with Samsung Exclaims.

  Summary

  As of this writing after getting hold of their phone support inquiring about the whereabouts of my CD, I finally recieved the CD last week. Got excited went ahead to install on computer and it asks for a serial number. The serial number on my email comes up as invalid. And they didn't send me a serial number with the CD. So just got done submitting a ticket for the serial number. Hoping one day....before I grow old and die I get to try it out for myself.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Jul 28, 2011<p/>If I don't recieve the serial number in the next 3 months does anyone want this CD? I'll give it to you for free! You pay the shipping charges.

• Mediocre product &#38; funky support. Mis-hit functionality

  Pros

  The cables work, and the Bluetooth interface is adequate.

  Cons

  CD doesn't do much, two of my phones couldn't be found by the software, and the one that was had to restart several times during data transfer. (New laptop with Win 7.0 64 bit)

  Summary

  For example, Samsung Ace appears to be mis-listed as SCH-i325; it is actually an SPH-i325 and DataPilot can't find it, even if Bluetooth discovers it correctly. The CD is just a way to get to a website, which is probably because there are thousands of phones, but the label makes you think it is specific to Samsung, like the cables. No phone support, and no acknowledgement or reply to e-mail. The Skype contact gimmick is sort of cute but just wasted time. If you can test it with the free trial version, maybe OK, but don't walk out of a store thinking you will go home and start backing up your phone. I finally just key-pounded the contacts into a spreadsheet by hand. It might be quicker and cheaper than fighting with this software.

  Pros

  Allowed me to access some pics on a phone without having a flash card to read.

  Cons

  Took a little while to figure it out; not for the computer illiterate.

  Summary

  For price I'd recommend purchase if you need to move pics to your PC.and not break the bank.

  works with most phones excellent price for what you get easy phone detect

  None really.

  Summary

  I have always had troubles with getting the phones work with computer. This software picks up the drivers without the need to install driver every time you plug in the phones. Great solution to backup pictures and contacts easily.

  Pros

  Needed to download photos from some old, out of service cell phones. This worked perfectly.

  Cons

  Trial version puts watermarks on the pictures, but at least you can tell if the software will work for you.

  Summary

  Worth the $19.95 price, but look for coupon codes on the Web.

• Datapilot bad product

  Pros

  Comes with a cable that actually works.

  Cons

  Ringtone composer doesn't work with any imports on my computer. Product support doesn't exists. Upgrade only wants to sell me a new product.

  Summary

  I feel like I wasted my money on this product. It's came out of the box as an old version 6.1.0. I see this revies on cnet says 7.01. I can't find a way to upgrade. It only cost me $19.99 and I can edit my phone book using it so maybe 1 star is enough.
