Publisher's description
From DVD Shrink :This product is no longer available. Information regarding this product is being maintained for posterity's sake only. DVD Shrink is a free and easy to use DVD ripping and "shrinking" software to backup DVD discs. You can use this software in conjunction with any burning software, to make a backup copy of any DVD video disc. The output from DVD Shrink can be saved as files on your hard drive, which you can then burn with software of your choice. DVD Shrink will also burn your backup DVD, if you have installed the latest version of Nero.
Most DVD video titles are simply too large to fit, without modification, onto a single recordable DVD-R or CD-R disk. DVD Shrink overcomes this problem by modifying or "shrinking" the data from your original DVD. DVD Shrink provides two ways of shrinking your DVD disk. These are re-authoring and re-encoding. You can use one, or the other, or for maximum "shrinkage", both combined.
DVD Shrink is not advertising supported, nor does it require registration, and no information is collected from or about product users. Its simple and intuitive interface allows anyone to use it easily. All the major features are displayed according to the DVD authoring or burning process so that users can create a DVD, VCD, or SVCD very easily. It comes complete with full install and uninstall, an automatic auto-update checker, a complete setup wizard, comprehensive interactive online user guide, and free unlimited tech support.

Version: DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15
"Great program, needs more conversion output types"
Pros: Simple, fast, and easy.
Cons: Needs the native ability to encode to Divx etc.
Summary: Love this program, haven't found a better free software for the job.

Version: DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15
Pros: It's free, easy to use and free
Cons: There are no con's in my opinion and I'd say the same if I had to pay for it. Given it's freeware, I don't see how one would complain.
Summary: Don't know about the complaint that this is not freeware. I didn't pay a dime for it. Website (dvdshrink.org) has nice tutorials.

Version: DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15
"the first "video grabber" i could actually get to work"
Pros: it does what it's supposed to and doesn't trash your clips.
Cons: a little clunky at times eg. popping up over work you're trying to do in folders when it's done with a file & refusing to load more than 1 clip at a time in the same folder when editing a DVD, but with patience does the job.
it doesn't do w98Summary: after installing at least a dozen alleged freeware converters for about 5 seconds to 10 frustrating minutes before uninstalling them and going back to square 1, i was happy when DVD shrink started saving the clip i just edited.
