Classic Shell is a collection of features that were available in older versions of Windows but are removed from Vista and Windows 7. It has a classic start menu for Windows 7. It adds a toolbar for Windows Explorer. Classic Shell adds some missing features to Windows 7 and Vista like a classic start menu, toolbar for Explorer and others.
What's new in this version: Version 3.6.7 has fixed incompatibility with the taskbar of Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.

It loads fast and is stable.

It does not really assemblies all the good stuff from Windows 7, more of Windows XP style.
Summary
It does work a lot faster launching applications and is a lot more customizable than MetroUI for us old Windows users. I was about giving up on Windows 8 and install Linux or windows 7 but with this app it is usable again! Great!

Metro style start button really looks great. lots of customization options love it. running win 8 home 64 bit runs great no issues.
Cons
ummm.. wish there was more pre-loaded icons for start button.. you could always upload one but i rather save the 30 seconds it may take to find a pic online, change size and format..lol no great download thanks!

easy install from chrome browser to pc to customizing... love it.. and if you were like me and were missing the start button.. u will like this alternative..

I wanted to test it on Windows 7 so I did and the only thing that I saw functional was the uninstall instructions.
Cons
Basically it has nothing to offer for me most likely because I have used Windows XP and 7 both for so long that I am used to the user interface and comfortable with both.
Summary
My original intent was to try it on a friends new Windows 8 which I have yet to do. Now if this software will reformat Windows 8 so it functions exactly like Windows 7 it will be exceptional.
Hopefully I will see what it's capabilities are in the next few days. -
