If you re looking for a space-shooter game with a dose of humor, turn to Chicken Invaders. True to its name, this program is similar to Space Invaders, only you must blast chickens instead of aliens and avoid eggs instead of missiles. Other than that twist, gameplay is rather standard for this type of program, although the chickens fly in different formations as you go deeper into the game. We liked both the graphics and the music, but we would have appreciated the ability to turn the latter down or disable it entirely. While we re on the subject, a lack of features is Chicken Invaders weakest point; you won t find a single option for customizing the game other than the ability to set the detail level. Still, since it is free and fun to play, we think a wide range of users will appreciate decimating their fowl foes in this game.

Simply fun game similar to Galaga from the '80s. Nice graphics, smooth running, no crashes at all, great sound.
Cons
Long start-up screens before getting ready to play, the same upon leaving.
Summary
Needs a sound "off" button or hotkey, and a quick "exit" button to let you leave quickly.

not enough chicken, seriously, though. installation requires sticky keys modification and mouse disablement in sticky keys box, otherwise it crashes all over the damned place, chicken wings, beaks etc.

Not the typical Space Invaders clone. The Windows version is at least hundreds of times better than the DOS version. Great game for children. Great game for adults after smoking.

inability to increase sound level, decreasing sound level is easy, just turn the volume control on the speakers down, I would enjoy it somewhat more if all of my neighbor's could hear

Catch the gift boxes if you can. They provide better lasers. Your lasers will fry the chickens. Try to catch the fried chicken legs as they fall.
