Publisher's description
From Chess Technologies :Learn and remember chess opening theory better and faster. In addition, you can use this software as an aid in building your opening repertoire. Unlike other chess training software, Chess Opening Trainer does not randomly select training moves and positions. It smartly selects and serves the training move and position, which you had difficulty in solving. Chess Opening Trainer builds on the time-tested educational technique of learning by doing. You train against the computer by playing the exact opening lines you want to learn. Some of the most important features: play the positions against Crafty, import PGN game from clipboard, import games from PGN files, smart training move selection by the computer, view training statistics for current position, and enter notes for individual positions.

Version: Chess Opening Trainer 1.1.5
Pros: I input my opening book and the program tests me so easily. I love using it. What I like most is that it is so easy to use. I tried another opening program but that had so many controls it was difficult to get going. I use this program for hours at a time and I am starting to remember my open rep. at last.
Cons: program occasionally crashes - but easy to restart. Updates do not seem to ever happen. Not really many pre-made books to choose from.

Version: Chess Opening Trainer 1.1.5
"Too slow for large pgn files."
Pros: I could be a good program, but needs rewriting to pick up speed.
Cons: To slow.

Version: Chess Opening Trainer 1.1.5
"too much work to do before it functions properly"
Pros: Great potential, not quite user-unfriendly,but getting there.
Cons: Too much to do before the program becomes operative. Books should be pre-installed and a single click away.
