Publisher's Description
From codepoetry:
CUPS-PDF is an open-source backend module for CUPS (Mac OS X's printing system) by Volker C. Behr that, rather than printing to a device, prints straight to PDF files.
Why use this rather than a simple "Save as PDF" in the print dialog?
- Pressing return is faster.
- Batch-print through the writer to convert documents to PDF.
- Common save location for all generated PDFs.
What's new in this version: Updated permissions on the backend module to support Leopard.

"works perfect"
Version: CUPS-PDF 2.4.6.1
Pros
I was looking for a pdf creator that is able to create pdf files in high quality. This does the job because you can adjust the dpi. And it's easy to use.
Cons
Puts the output files in a folder on the desktop. Not a big problem for me...
Summary
Great tool if the graphics quality of the regular "create pdf" function on your mac is not sufficient.

"A printer replacement that just works."
Version: CUPS-PDF 2.4.6.1
Pros
Easy to install and simple to use as an option to "save as PDF".
Cons
The default save location is in the non-Mac unixy location of /var/spool/cups-pdf which is just so geeky.
Summary
Switch hats to sysadmin to get this to work and you will not be disappointed. A good step by step to edit the config file is here:

"It does what it says but..."
Version: CUPS-PDF 2.4.6.1
Pros
it works and little to simple for my needs
Cons
At first look I cant figure out how to customize where I want to save the file.
I tried this because MACs installed PDF app make the files rather large. Im looking for something like what I use on my PC (pdf995) best thing out there in PC world.Summary
