CNET Editors' review
This aptly named utility prevents your CD and DVD drives from being opened with an eject button. CDRom-Lock has a no-frills interface that lets you select a CD/DVD drive from a drop-down list, lock or unlock it, and open or close the drive. (The interface opens in German, so select Edit, which is the middle choice on the menu; open Preferences; and select English as the language.) Locking the drive renders your eject button useless. At that point, the only way to open the drive is to do it through the CDRom-Lock interface. All CD-ROM action options worked flawlessly in our tests. The application is easy to use, so you won't miss the absent help file. Any user who needs to keep her CDs or DVDs locked for security reasons or often accidentally presses the eject buttons on the CPU will surely find this simple freeware beneficial.Publisher's Description
From N. Wiese:
Have you ever pushed the button of your CD/DVD drive by accident? This small program blocks the eject button at almost every CD/DVD drive and gives the user the power of controlling the CD/DVD drive by a small icon at the Windows system tray. This is a useful tool for all users working with their notebooks as well as for desktop users.
Version 0.6.1 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

"Works but glitchy."
Version: CDRom-Lock 0.6.1
Pros
It does lock my DVD drive.
Cons
The really annoying thing was that I selected English in the installer and it came up in German. I tried to reinstall to be sure I did it right and it still came up in German.
Summary
I did muddle through the menus and found the path to change it to English:
- Right-click the systray icon, select "Maximieren".
- Click the "Bearbeiten" menu item and then "Optionen".
- Click "English" -

You have 32 buttons on a page that try to convince me that I want their product too. They all work. Why does the one I want and came for not work?

"A little sluggish, but works"
Version: CDRom-Lock 0.6.1
Pros
1. The program performs as promised.
2. I have now learned a few words in (German) I think.
Cons
1. There seemed to be a rather long delay for such a simple task.
2. Although it was easy to figure out, I would prefer if it were in English.
