Recover files from damaged or corrupted CD, DVD, HD FVD, Blu-Ray disks.
CD Recovery Toolbox Free was developed for recovering damaged files CD, DVD, HD DVD, Blu-Ray and etc disks. You can use it to restore information lost as a result of some mechanical damage of the disk (scratches, chips, different spots on the surface) or as a result of incorrect recording. Program can recover data that was considered lost. Tool scans any CD and DVD disks and finds files and folders located there. We should mention that there can be some information on the disk that cannot be recovered. Not all of the files and folders can be found - that depends on the degree and location of the damage. Therefore, tool finds the possible maximum amount of information. After that, it shows a list of all files and folders available for recovery. Now the user can select the files and folders to be recovered. Those specific objects will be recovered while the others will be ignored. The program recovers the maximum amount of information in the damaged file. This reduces the risk of data loss considerably. Program features: - Recovering information from any CD and DVD disks - Recovering files larger than 4 Gb - Detecting possible lack of free space on the hard disk for storing the recovered files Tool not only has a complete set of data recovery features, but is also user-friendly and convenient. The program interface is designed as a step-by step wizard, where the user has to perform a single action on each page of the wizard. The wizard makes the use of the tool very simple and convenient even for a beginner. As for the fact that practically every PC user needs a tool for recovering information from CD and DVD disks, there is no doubt about it. As you know, these storage media are the most widely spread nowadays. They are rather capacious, all-purpose, durable and, what's important, inexpensive. The problem is - they aren't very reliable.
It took awhile, and I did download some of the options.

Pros
CD Recovery Toolbox worked great. I can't understand why many people gave bad reviews. I'm leary of most ratings. Keep an open mind. I trust CNET!!
Cons
I have no complaints.
Summary
tries really, really hard, works quite well

Pros
I really enjoy digging through the treasure trove of stuff I saved and burnt to disk years ago provided by the program. those scratches and crap on your disk deserve a wash at least, and stuff comes back from the dead! n you did save that a long time ago! good for you!
Cons
other than the "yes to all" and "no to all" buttons providing the same functionality as the "yes" and "no" buttons to click over stuff that's already been transferred, and your (and my) index finger probably don't need that much exercise.
the prog tries really, really hard to get your data right, so much so that you've got to let it take a substantial amount of time. like while you sleep at night... and then sometimes it does hang, where you have to task-manage it to death when it admits to "not responding", which you should know because you couldn't get it to "skip" that old mp3 (that was off of some old HD you got from a machine they were throwing out at work and foolishly burnt to DVD years ago and weren't/aren't really interested in anyway), but I do love it for trying so hard, not knowing I don't really care. at least a thousand times better than dragging and dropping results, assuredly, wants me to give it high marks for just that.
Summary
does what it does. can take forever and then some, but all good things can't be rushed. I like it a lot, assuredly worth infinitely (infinitely^2?) more than I paid for it. patience is a virtue, be virtuous. it makes me very happy to discover all those things I burned long ago, they're all (mostly) still there beautiful as ever,
Perfect,Works Great...!!!

Pros

Cons
Slow
There is no option to save restored log.
Summary
My Malwarebytes anti-malware and ESET antivirus didn't find any malware with this product. I found good review about this product except on this site. Also I tried CD Check V 3.1 and Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier. Out of these, CD Recovery Toolbox Free is the best.
Scam... don't waste your time

Pros
Simple interface, common sense save path.
Cons
Doesn't multitask well, with part of the interface disappearing after alt tabbing so that no progress indication could be seen from that point.
Summary
I had three large zip files on a DVD that windows couldn't access. CD Recovery Toolbox slowly but surely recovered two of the three files. It is a good first step before looking to physically rejuvenate a disc surface. Some extra code allowing the user to designate a cut-off point would be good. I left this running overnight and it was still running, with the third file only about 0.5% done (irrecoverable clearly). Having said that, progress is not linear so run this with nothing else in the background and when you don't need to use your pc and it may still get there in the end.
