This alarm clock handles its main job well enough, despite offering little beyond its real-world brethren. Though some folks may like Black Alarm Clock's dark color scheme, we wished the developer had included skins for altering its appearance. You won't find many customization features here, though you can change the clock display's font, size, and color if you don't like the defaults. The utility can alert you by playing an audio file or a CD, launching a program, shutting down your PC, and, of course, using the traditional beep. However, we wish the clock would let you set more than one alarm at once. So long as you don't expect anything special, Black Alarm Clock works well enough.

Black Alarm Clock is a simple, black-colored alarm clock that will beep, play a WAV file, play an MP3 file, or play a CD. It also can run a program, log off, reboot, shut down, or power off. This version has been rewritten from scratch using the Microsoft .NET Framework, and can lock out the user, allows the user to change the background color, and can synchronize the system clock with Internet time (it pings tick.usno.navy.mil). A large font makes the time easy to see from a distance. The black color (which is customizable) makes it suitable for taking a nap at your desk. The clock comes to the top of all open applications when the alarm goes off, and the snooze-button-like Alarm Off button makes it easy to stop the alarm by simply hitting the spacebar.

..as the user has their power setting customized as I do,my personal customized AlwaysOn2,with the three settings all as Never.
Cons
I can only say that, if you have a total crash, when you get the program again later, you are once again asked to register,if you could.?.?...Black Alarm Clock would be well worth 3 dollars A YEAR to keep!

Summary
Do not EVER rely on this program as an alarm (hm, but wait, it IS an alarm) it is completely unreliable. It only runs when it feels like it. Whoever came up with the idea to put a new face to alarm clock 1.0 didn't think that the programming needed work... cuz guess what. IT DOES!!!!

Summary
The only thing this needs is a gradule volume increase when the beep or WAV kicks in. It could also use a snooze feature, but other than that it works great. You can choose a WAV, MP3, CD, default beep, or choose an action like shutdown or logoff. Cool black layout too! Awesome for $3!
