Editors' Review

Auslogics BoostSpeed 7 is an impressive suite of tools to help you maximize your PC's operating efficiency. In addition, the program provides extra features that make managing everything about your system that much easier.

Pros

Tons of tools: BoostSpeed offers all kinds of ways to improve your system's overall speed and performance, as well as to protect your privacy and optimize your operating system. The Home section contains options for opening up disk space, improving computer stability, and boosting speed. Scans in these areas are completed automatically when you open the program, and you can quickly repair any or all of them with the click of a button. Other tools are available through various tabs running across the bottom of the interface, and these include a startup manager, a file shredder, a duplicate-file finder, an uninstall manager, a disk explorer, and more.

Advanced options: Novices will get plenty out of the main features available through the app's main interface. But experienced users will find advanced options through the Settings Menu. These include the ability to enable a deep scan, which takes longer but can root out more issues; an Ignore List, to which you can add Registry keys you want the program to skip during scans; and a Scheduler to set up automatic maintenance runs.

Cons

Action Center: The Action Center is with other tool sections arrayed across the bottom of the screen, but it's really not part of the app. All it contains are links to download other programs by the same developer, which could be confusing for novices.

Bottom Line

Auslogics BoostSpeed 7 is a powerful tool for improving your system's overall performance. The variety and clear presentation of the program's tools make it a good option for users of all experience levels.

Editors' note: This is a review of the full version of Auslogics BoostSpeed 7. The trial version has limited functionalities.

"It used to be a great product"

March 24, 2015

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 7.5.0

Pros

At the moment, I'm so disgusted with their adware and always trying to shove another product down your through, I don't have positives.

Cons

Hidden adware that screws up Auslogics boostspeed....(caught be Avast bootscah) what's the point of speeding up your computer, when their own product slow your computer down by adware.

Summary

Don't waste your money.

"Bait and Switch"

March 23, 2015  |  By wildweasel41

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 7.5.0

Pros

Not much any more

Cons

Had the older versions and all was nice. \my subscription ran out and figured I would upgrade to the newer version. New version cut out my old version, dumped all the features I had paid for and now mandates payment for the same service.

Summary

Auslogic was a fine program, but has gotten greedy. I have had it for many years and would try a free system for about 6 months and then purchase the full version (1 year) after. Once that subscription ended, I would try the newer version and then once again purchase the upgrade. Now when you upgrade you lose ALL the features which you purchased on your earlier model.

Simply think of it like this. You buy a car, but when you change the oil you can no longer use the air conditioning you paid for before. You are now required to buy a new air conditioner. But worse yet auslogic is now like this. You drive your paid for car into the showroom of a car dealer. You want to look around at a new car. You chose not to buy today and go back to your old (paid for car) and find out that by driving onto the lot many of the features of your old car no longer work. By going onto the lot you screwed yourself - THAT IS AUSLOGIC NOW!

"Good program with some inconveniences (ver. 7.8.1.0)"

March 15, 2015  |  By Eugenvariation

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 7.5.0

Pros

1. Easy to use and navigate
2. Good tools for cleaning junk and temporary files
3. Good disk defrag
4. Does all the tasks you could do using built-in Windows service programs faster and easier

Cons

1. The main disadvantage of the latest versions are those irritating window pop-ups (notifications) by "Live Speedup" which constantly interfere with the process of playing games and watching video. These info windows (for example that some processes have been optimized on your PC) appear above your main window and don't disappear unless you click on them. You cannot disable these notifications in the settings. This is extremely irritating when you watch video or play a game!
2. I don't like the Auction Center which advertises other products of Auslogics. I would prefer to receive extra advertisement from Auslogics via e-mail rather than via the program I've purchased.

Summary

Please fix the bug with Live Speedup notification windows - they are really annoying!

On the whole the software is very functional and easy to use.

"A take over your computer scam"

February 15, 2015  |  By jacheter

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 3.7.1

Pros

None that I can see

Cons

A technician is required to take over your computer to install the software.
They try to sell you a 300 or 400 dollar service to clean and manage maintenance of your computer.

Summary

Scam! Did I mention it is a scam?

"Ehh...not spectacular."

November 13, 2014  |  By Orange Fox

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 7.3.2

Pros

BoostSpeed has a nice, simple interface. Many useful tools optimize your computer, plus you have some extras like File Restorer or Windows theme customization options. Privacy options remove tracking cookies and other trackers. The Rescue center reverts any harmful changes done to your system.

Cons

VERY unstable and dangerous. Free version is locked down. There is even an entire category of BoostSpeed dedicated to indirect ads (buttons which install Auslogic's other PAID programs). There is a risk of system damage as there is with any optimization tool.

Summary

Great in terms of usefulness and look, but doesn't cut it for stability. My computer Blue-Screen-of-Deathed after I scanned and fixed some problems with my computer on Premium version. This program isn't really worth buying or using but it definitely grasps some good concepts. I liked how it has a File restorer that you can use to restore deleted files. Recommendation: Avoid this and use CCleaner or a similar program.

"Thought it couldn't get any better, but it just did"

September 02, 2014  |  By GR8person

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 7.1.1

Pros

Love the changes the made to the privacy tool. A couple of people in my family will be happy to see the changes in All Tools. All of the questions they used to ask me are now answered there, such as what the tool does, why do I need it and so on.

Cons

Not sure how I feel about the action center yet, have to use the new version a little longer to form an opinion. It may turn into a con for me...

Summary

I have used every BoostSpeed version Auslogics has released in the last few years and I must say that I really like this new release.

"If you like malware, spyware and pop-ups then get this"

August 19, 2014  |  By _Mystic_

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 6.5.6

Pros

None whatsoever.

Cons

It doesn't clean up everything after a scan/fix. Doing an immediate scan afterwards reveals hundreds into several thousand errors.

Many self promoting and annoying pop-up ads for "The Newer Version!". IF YOU BUY A YEAR MEMBERSHIP DO NOT UPGRADE!!! You will lose the version you're using and can't get it back!

It just fails at thoroughly cleaning and fixing errors.

Summary

I bought a year subscription for Boostspeed and have yet to run a scan, fix errors, run a scan immediately after and have zero errors. It has simply never happened. An immediate follow up scan reveals not just a few errors but hundreds and most of the time, for me, 1,500+ and as much as 3,000+. This software is a total fail on every level. Download and/or purchase at your own risk.

"Why didn't I find it earlier?"

April 28, 2014  |  By SmartBananas

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 6.5.5

Pros

Boost Speed is exactly what I was looking for!

Cons

It is perfect!

Summary

I went through a dozen installs/uninstalls of other system utilities... several system restores... one problem after another adding to the agony my two computers were already going through...and then I found Boost Speed! I am just happy I am able to type these words from my Windows 7 HP Pavillion laptop that had been practically near dead before I used Boost Speed on it.

"Great program!"

April 28, 2014  |  By Jessej80

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 6.5.5

Pros

I've used it on several different systems from Windows XP to now Windows 8.1 and it worked great on all.
You can back up with this program before you do anything with it, which I used to do religiously prior to every cleanup... not anymore :)
Has a lot of additional features, some of which I didn't think I'd ever use, but ended up using at one point or another.

Cons

Not really a con, but I wish they'd include an antivirus in Boostspeed. That would make it all I need for PC care.

Summary

I have been using this program since 2012, when I upgraded from Auslogic's free Defrag. This is by far the best optimizer out there.
No wonder CNET rates it Spectacular - it truly is!
