Editors' Review

Auslogics BoostSpeed 7 is an impressive suite of tools to help you maximize your PC's operating efficiency. In addition, the program provides extra features that make managing everything about your system that much easier.

Pros

Tons of tools: BoostSpeed offers all kinds of ways to improve your system's overall speed and performance, as well as to protect your privacy and optimize your operating system. The Home section contains options for opening up disk space, improving computer stability, and boosting speed. Scans in these areas are completed automatically when you open the program, and you can quickly repair any or all of them with the click of a button. Other tools are available through various tabs running across the bottom of the interface, and these include a startup manager, a file shredder, a duplicate-file finder, an uninstall manager, a disk explorer, and more.

Advanced options: Novices will get plenty out of the main features available through the app's main interface. But experienced users will find advanced options through the Settings Menu. These include the ability to enable a deep scan, which takes longer but can root out more issues; an Ignore List, to which you can add Registry keys you want the program to skip during scans; and a Scheduler to set up automatic maintenance runs.

Cons

Action Center: The Action Center is with other tool sections arrayed across the bottom of the screen, but it's really not part of the app. All it contains are links to download other programs by the same developer, which could be confusing for novices.

Bottom Line

Auslogics BoostSpeed 7 is a powerful tool for improving your system's overall performance. The variety and clear presentation of the program's tools make it a good option for users of all experience levels.

Editors' note: This is a review of the full version of Auslogics BoostSpeed 7. The trial version has limited functionalities.

"Love the new version!"

June 29, 2015  |  By GR8person

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 7.5.0

Pros

New interface looks and feels simpler while it seems they've kept all the features... even added some! I like their system advisor a lot. It told me right away I needed to upgrade my video card and gave other tips that made sense.

Cons

I could do without the Action Center. Hey you guys there at Auslogics do you hear us?

Summary

I've been using this program for years and still think this is the best optimizer out there. And the company is good to deal with.

"Malware this is malware"

June 28, 2015  |  By jkm0119

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 7.5.0

Pros

Nothing good.

Cons

It takes over your computer and puts malware on on it.
I guess I stop reading what CNET recommends.
If you want control of your computer do not download, DO NOT DOWNLOAD.
Nothing good to say about this program.

"I recommend staying away from this and researching"

June 22, 2015  |  By Matt Qualls

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 7.5.0

Pros

Worked nicely the first few times I used it. Even fixed one registry issue on a family member's PC.

Cons

Ended up deleting or moving something that caused my computer to crash constantly until I had to do a reinstall of Windows, and Auslogics couldn't fix itself.

Summary

It's really just not worth it. I ran into much bigger problems than I had benefits from. If you need help fixing something, go to some trusted forums, read and learn, and do it yourself.

"A Great Product, But..."

April 12, 2015

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 7.5.0

Pros

Easy to use, effective, efficient.

Cons

Those stupid, irremovable pop-ups that do not serve any purpose except to annoy you -- and they don't close automatically. Really irritating when you're watching a movie.

Summary

I've been using Boostspeed for years and it has kept all my machines -- desk and laptops -- clean and running beautifully. I don't understand the beef with the adware because if you use an adblock, you're golden. Also, the sponsorships protect you from paying full price, so I can't complain about that, either. What I can, and do, complain about is there is absolutely no reason why this, or any other program, has to insist on announcing that it did its job by putting up a mini-billboard at the corner of my screen and let it stay there until I stop what I'm doing to close it. Who thought this was a good idea? Other than that, I have never had a problem with customer service in 7 years. I've never had an issue with the program not doing its thing. And I'm still glad that I use it.

"BAIT & SWITCH!"

April 12, 2015  |  By ccox202

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 7.5.0

Pros

It was on sale for $25.

Cons

I used the free version to find duplicate files. When the full version went on sale for half price, I decided to give it a try. I read that the code they sent me could be used to upgrade my free version to the full version, but that didn't work. I had to call the toll-free number to talk to a technician. After he installed the full version, he switched me over to his "supervisor" that started telling me that my computer was full of problems, although he didn't point out anything specific except for 4 temporary files that I hadn't cleaned up yet. All he wanted to do was sell me a service to optimize my computer. That is exactly what I didn't want.

Summary

Company uses heavy BAIT & SWITCH tactics. I will not purchase from them again.

"It used to be a great product"

March 24, 2015

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 7.5.0

Pros

At the moment, I'm so disgusted with their adware and always trying to shove another product down your through, I don't have positives.

Cons

Hidden adware that screws up Auslogics boostspeed....(caught be Avast bootscah) what's the point of speeding up your computer, when their own product slow your computer down by adware.

Summary

Don't waste your money.

"Bait and Switch"

March 23, 2015  |  By wildweasel41

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 7.5.0

Pros

Not much any more

Cons

Had the older versions and all was nice. \my subscription ran out and figured I would upgrade to the newer version. New version cut out my old version, dumped all the features I had paid for and now mandates payment for the same service.

Summary

Auslogic was a fine program, but has gotten greedy. I have had it for many years and would try a free system for about 6 months and then purchase the full version (1 year) after. Once that subscription ended, I would try the newer version and then once again purchase the upgrade. Now when you upgrade you lose ALL the features which you purchased on your earlier model.

Simply think of it like this. You buy a car, but when you change the oil you can no longer use the air conditioning you paid for before. You are now required to buy a new air conditioner. But worse yet auslogic is now like this. You drive your paid for car into the showroom of a car dealer. You want to look around at a new car. You chose not to buy today and go back to your old (paid for car) and find out that by driving onto the lot many of the features of your old car no longer work. By going onto the lot you screwed yourself - THAT IS AUSLOGIC NOW!

"Good program with some inconveniences (ver. 7.8.1.0)"

March 15, 2015  |  By Eugenvariation

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 7.5.0

Pros

1. Easy to use and navigate
2. Good tools for cleaning junk and temporary files
3. Good disk defrag
4. Does all the tasks you could do using built-in Windows service programs faster and easier

Cons

1. The main disadvantage of the latest versions are those irritating window pop-ups (notifications) by "Live Speedup" which constantly interfere with the process of playing games and watching video. These info windows (for example that some processes have been optimized on your PC) appear above your main window and don't disappear unless you click on them. You cannot disable these notifications in the settings. This is extremely irritating when you watch video or play a game!
2. I don't like the Auction Center which advertises other products of Auslogics. I would prefer to receive extra advertisement from Auslogics via e-mail rather than via the program I've purchased.

Summary

Please fix the bug with Live Speedup notification windows - they are really annoying!

On the whole the software is very functional and easy to use.

"A take over your computer scam"

February 15, 2015  |  By jacheter

 |  Version: Auslogics BoostSpeed 3.7.1

Pros

None that I can see

Cons

A technician is required to take over your computer to install the software.
They try to sell you a 300 or 400 dollar service to clean and manage maintenance of your computer.

Summary

Scam! Did I mention it is a scam?
