Ashampoo HDD Control is a multifeatured set of utilities that helps users maintain their hard drives and ensure optimal performance.
The program's interface is sleek and intuitive, with its features organized in tabs. With both monitoring features and maintenance utilities, Ashampoo HDD Control gives users ways to both keep an eye on and improve system performance. Although some of the information that the program provides is geared toward more advanced users, anyone can understand its basics, and the built-in Help file does a good job of explaining all of the features. The program's monitor tab gives users information about the health of their systems, including the hard drive's temperature and status, while the benchmark tab details system performance. The defragmentation utility allows users not only to defrag their hard drives, but to run proactive defragmentation, which keeps the process going continuously. An Internet cleaner gets rid of traces of Internet activity, while the drive cleaner finds and deletes duplicate files in a hurry. We found the program both easy to use and very effective; although some of what it does, such as defragmentation, can be accomplished from within Windows, we liked having all of these maintenance and monitoring features in one well-designed place.
Ashampoo HDD Control has a 40-day trial period. It installs politely, but leaves a folder behind upon removal. We recommend this program to all users.

From Ashampoo :The Ashampoo HDD Control software performs hard disk maintenance for you. This involves taking measures to prevent potential failures and crashes before they occur. Towards this end, the program combines several functions available for the first time in this particular configuration. The software supports all commonly available IDE and serial ATA drives. Based on the type of drive in use, Ashampoo HDD Control provides the user with all important facts and information, including the drive serial number, firmware version, cache size, number of configured partitions, drive space and current temperature. As the number of signs indicating that the drive could soon potentially fail begins to mount, the background guard signals an alarm. If you are not near your computer, the program can be set up to notify you of the alert by email. In the final report, the program also provides information on the health and performance of the hard drive shown in percentages. Over time, an ever-growing number of unwanted and unneeded files accumulate on your hard drive and Ashampoo HDD Control is a useful tool to help you locate and delete these files. If not enough space is available to store the complete file in this space, it is broken up into fragments. Windows in turn saves these at different locations on the hard drive in order to make best use of the available gaps. For this reason, it is easy to understand why the computer takes longer to read the file, since it first of all needs to locate and assemble all the separate fragments.

"good about what I do not understand"
Pros: Until now I cannot understand what positive is this software for me. I try to see any chnage after some change but I do not reach any change. Sorry.

"Don't work with Magical Defrag 3 !"
Pros: Gives some supplying informations.
Cons: Do NOT work on USB connected discs.
Summary: Starts with messsage: "Defrag key not valid" though Magical Defrag 3 is legally installed.This should be corrected by an updated version.

Pros: This identified problems with the drive I am using of backup. Now I have to get with the mfg because even their software does not show this potential for failure. If only I could find the receipt.
