This tiny but extremely limited alarm clock gets a slight boost due to the fact it's totally free. Alarm Clock's bland, Spartan interface shouldn't confuse a soul, particularly because it doesn't really have any features. You simply set the time you want to be notified, check a box, then minimize the app to your taskbar. When the allotted time arrives, the app will pop up and play a repetitive sound. However, we found it strange the system-tray icon wouldn't actually call the clock back up; it only can be used to shut it down entirely. The app also conspicuously lacks even basic features. For example, you can't choose from different alert sounds, add a text message to reminders, set recurring alarms, or use your own music. Still, since it costs nothing, we can see how users just seeking the bare minimum might find this program serviceable.
