In personal and business settings, tools such as databases, word processors, spreadsheets, and Web browsers have become an everyday necessity. 4LightData Base for Mac is designed to handle all your data efficiently, but unfortunately it might not be the solution for all of your document creation needs.
4LightData Base for Mac is a free multiple-component productivity suite. The interface of the program is very simple but doesn't follow any logical order. The program is a collection of pieces that contain basic versions of a database, a word processor, a Web browser, a drawing program, and a spreadsheet. Although it is basic, the different elements are able to save files in common desirable formats, including DOC. On the negative side, this program is filled with bugs ranging from drop-down menus that don't work to tables that are hard to maneuver. The program seems to be trying to give the user a lot of choices, but unfortunately, all of the choices come up short.
4LightData Base for Mac is a basic program that is overloaded with pieces that are unreliable. The variety of elements it includes seems to be a mishmash of random options, as this program definitely does not follow the typical productivity suite configuration. This program might be suited for personal use, but the unstable nature of the program might cause a lot of frustration.
4LightData is a utility database with integrated word processor, spreadsheet and drawing. The program can handle large amounts of data using the 4D database engine. It gives access to the engine's Import, Export, Quick Report, Graph, Query and Formula editors which allow the manipulating and reporting of the records. A very good introduction to the editors can be found in the 4D QuickStart Guide. Additionally, word processor, SVG drawing and spreadsheet features have been added to the database. It is now possible to merge form letters, drawings and spreadsheets with the database records.
