Yummly is a powerful meal-planning app that lets you quickly browse the Web for recipes, and create custom shopping lists based on your dietary needs. It's become one of our most-used apps for planning weekly meals in a snap.

Pros

Nothing goes to waste: Once you add ingredients for a specific recipe to your shopping list, the app lists other recipes that contain similar ingredients. That way, you don't have to worry about wasting ingredients.

Change recipe serving sizes: The app lets you adjust serving sizes to meet your household needs. For example, we typically like to double our recipes, so that we have plenty of leftovers. Just tap the serving size and scroll until you find the right size (it ranges from one serving to 25). Once you tap Done, the recipe amounts change to accommodate the serving size.

Search by dietary needs: Under the app's Settings screen, you can specify your dietary preferences. For example, we chose a vegan diet, and our feed adjusted to only show vegan recipes. But you can take it a step further and add specific ingredients that you don't like, as well as filter by food allergies.

Cons

Cluttered interface: The interface can be a bit much on the eyes. It would be nice to have the option of just viewing our shopping list without any other distractions.
