Editors’ Review
Wondershare Video Editor for Mac makes it incredibly easy to edit videos and add special effects. Its clean, intuitive interface, coupled with a how-to guide, will appeal to users who have no prior video editing experience.
Pros
Streamlined interface: New and advanced users will appreciate Wondershare Video Editor's clean design. Most video editors can be overwhelming to new users, but we found Wondershare very approachable. In a matter of minutes, we were uploading video files, adding text, and cutting scenes.
Special effects: Wondershare Video Editor comes with a lot of fun effects that can easily be added to your videos, such as text in cartoon-like conversation bubbles, holiday themes, and even split screens. Just select the effect that you want, and it's applied to the video in a panel on the right side of the screen.
Help if you need it: An online help tutorial, a Get Started guide, and basic editing and effects tips are available. However, most users will be able to just jump in and use the app without any guidance.
Cons
Slows things down: While Wondershare Video Editor was running on our Mac, we noticed that all other running apps slowed down to the point that we had to force quit. Browsing the Web was nearly impossible while the app was running. Once we shut down Wondershare, all was back to normal.
Bottom Line
Despite dragging down our Mac's performance, we found Wondershare Video Editor for Mac a fun and easy way to edit our video files. We especially recommend it for users who are new to video editors.
Editors' note: This is a review of the full version of Cocktail for Mac 8.1.2. The trial version is limited to 30 days.
