• Not as Advertised. Unhelpful/Rude Customer Service Tech

  Pros

  Can rip DVDs to different formats.

  Cons

  DID NOT perform as promised/advertised. No such ripping time in 5 minutes, but rather on average 20 to 45 (or more) minutes. Some DVDs can't be ripped at all.

• Works well but has some flaws

  Pros

  Does a quality job of ripping DVDs. Has some nice features allowing you to crop bars or frames, enhance image quality, etc.

  Cons

  There are a couple of nagging flaws with this program. One is that when you load a DVD, if you select (for example) Title 2, instead of the main title you'll get a "tip" saying "Title 1 is detected to be the main title of this DVD...[blah blah blah]" and you have to click "yes" to close it. Yeah, probably no biggie to some but I find it a PITA and unnecessary. Another is that, for some reason, if you proceed to trim the end portion of the video by sliding the bar, it will often lock up. I've had to manually close the program via CTRL+ALT+DEL many times and start all over again because of this. I've also tried to address it with the tech staff, but I'm not sure if they understand the problem - or think there is one.

  Summary

  Would be a better program if some of the issues I described were addressed or fixed.

• It was a nice program. Beware' Scamware_

  Pros

  I purchased it 15 months ago with a license for 5 PCs. It did as advertised at first. With each Update; It became slower &#38; Downloads stopped. However it continued to do Excellent Editing.

  Cons

  If you don't Update DVD Video Converter; Then Wonderfox will stop it from working. I was forced to Update again last month. Wonderfox disabled the program &#38; wants me to purchase a new license. I still have another 6 months to go with the 2 year download insurance that no longer work. There is no way to contact the Wonderfox Support Team in China other than to purchase a new license.

  Summary

  Save your money. The Wonderfox Team are Scammers. They get your money &#38; degrade your product through Bogus Updates to force you to spend more money. There is no Support &#38; no way to contact Wonderfox.

  Ability to crop videos and remove black bars/frames around picture Low price and high output quality

  Cons

  Tends to crash or freeze up while editing Conversion process is very slow

  Summary

  I bought this a few months ago for the features. It works well when it does work, but it has a tendency to crash, hang or freeze while editing and cropping a video and conversion process is very slow. Still, worth the money.

  I like its interface which is a balanced mixture of design and functionality. There are options to just extract the audio, which is great for my concert DVDs. The software installed like a charm and so far has worked perfectly.

  Summary

  The interface had all the basic instructions right there, making it easy to get started without referring to any help topics. Tried to convert videos from few formats to various other formats. The conversion was much faster than many other video converters I have used in the past. In fact, I was very impressed with the ease of use and quick video conversions.

  Summary

  I give WonderFox DVD Video Converter 7.7 Thumbs UP. I just ripped/converted 3 movies in 2 formats (MP4 and DVD) and they both look wonderful. Took about 30/40 minutes apiece. The interface was nice and easy to navigate. I can't think of any "cons" except for a bit pricy...

  Cons

  1. Removes DVD protections, but transodes very, very slowly. Can take up to 15 hours to transcode a single DVD into avi format on a state-of-the-art computer.
