Here are some ways this app can help you in your strength training:
- Shows the bar trajectory
Barbell path tracking is one of the most commonly used techniques in biomechanical analysis. For example, it can help you ensure you are not kicking the weight away from your body too much in the snatch.
- Easily find key positions in a lift
WL analysis allows you to easily find bottom position in a squat, power position in clean or snatch, etc. Then you can use up to 10x slow motion or frame by frame playback to analyse the technique down to the smallest detail.
- Increase your athletic performance
If you train weightlifting mainly for power development, then it makes a lot of sense to track the power output to assess your progress.
- Convenient video sharing
The app allows you to easily trim the video to just the important part and send it to your coach / share it with your friends on social media.
- All recordings grouped in one app
No need to scroll through the gallery to find the appropiate lift. You can tag the videos in the app to quickly look for them later.
Features:
- Automatic barbell detection (no need for manual plate selection)
- Adjustable playback speed
- Frame by frame playback
- Charts, statisticts (barbell velocity, acceleration, power, force)
- Built in video trimming
- Export videos with selected overlay
- Suitable for all barbell lifts: olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, crossfit, etc.
- Much more soon :)
Recommended camera setup: 2.5 - 3.5m away from the barbell at waistline level. Ideally, the videos should be taken from the side as it will give you the most accurate barbell trajectory.
I highly recommend using tripod. You can probably also get away without using it, but tripod improves accuracy a lot. Also, recording at higher frame rate and having better lighting helps.
The statistics assume that the plate has a standard 45cm diameter.
