Editors’ Review
Full of process, resulting in nothing is the sad tale for Windows Password Analyser. The program's gray button and simple list display should be easier to operate than it looks. The poorly formatted Help file should explain the application in easy to understand language. This app is full of things that should work, but the end result is it doesn't help analyze Windows passwords.
Users will find that the confusion starts when they must press the second listed button to start analysis. Dump a file, name it, and then go back to press the first are the next steps. It doesn't take any time to choose to check passwords through a dictionary or brute-force method. It will take less time to find that neither will help uncover user account passwords. The demo will support checking only four user accounts, but no matter which accounts our testers chose they received no reward. The program consistently displayed that zero passwords were checked.
Windows Password Analyser looks to have all the correct nomenclature, accurately explains the analysis process, but in the end simply doesn't perform. We suggest users bypass this older tool for something that works.
