Editors’ Review
Resize your Firefox window to different standard resolutions with this helpful freeware add-on. Installing Windows Resizer is as quick as dropping the file on the Firefox add-ons dialog. A Help file isn't included or needed.
Windows Resizer's operation might disappoint some users. It adds a single line to Firefox's Context Menu. Click that line to open the program's toolbar. Only then can you choose one of the five resolutions. Sure, it is nice to click a button to see how well your page handles 640x800 or 1600x1200. However, it takes a step more than you need. If the publisher had simply listed the five options in the context menu you would have single click resizing. Helpfully, the top left corner stayed in place each time we invoked a new browser resolution. That stability makes it easier to see the Web site adapt to the new resolution.
We wish it was possible to quickly toggle between resolutions, but the toolbar disappears after each use. You must restart the process to redisplay the toolbar. There's no cost for this simple tool. Firefox users might occasionally need this tool to see pages constructed for a resolution other than their own, while Web site programmers can use Windows Resizer to perfect site design.
