As with countless similar applications, WinAVI 3GP/MP4/PSP/iPod Video Converter transforms your digital video files into ones you can view on various portable devices, such as PSPs, iPods, and cell phones. The interface is easy to use, with only a few buttons for starting the conversion process. You can adjust the sample rate and video size and convert multiple files at once. Unfortunately, we ran into irritating stability problems. The trouble began when we selected options for keeping our test video's size and sample rate. The program displayed a "division by zero" error message and froze when it started converting; we had to use Windows Task Manager to quit. The program also didn't recognize our QuickTime 7.x installation, claiming we had QuickTime incorrectly installed (we didn't). Throw in the usual demo-version watermark on the output video, and you end up with a not-very-attractive overall package. WinAVI 3GP/MP4/PSP/iPod Video Converter converter demonstrated good speed in some tests, and if it weren't for its bugs, we'd be more enthusiastic. As it stands, however, on-the-go media lovers will probably want to try another program.

Cons
I spent an over an hour converting 5 movies and then realize that it's useless anyways. I can't watch a movie with a nag screen hanging over it.

Pros
Simple interface. Cropping tools. Rather fast.
Cons
No means of manually entering the disired resolution. Preview aspect ratio differs from the final output.
Summary
If this program had the ability to manually enter the required resolution I would have given this four stars, however, this basic omission completely lets the whole thing down. Instead, the user must manually move a slider and hopefully guess that the aspect ratio is correct, using a single snapshot taken from the movie. Unfortunately, this snapshot has a different aspect ratio to the Preview screen (which allows the user to see what the final output looks like); however, although it looks okay in this Preview screen, it won't be the same as the final output, because the aspect ratios are different. Had this, and the previous flaw not existed I would have given this five stars. However, as it is, this product is the result of sloppy programming, and for such appalling flaws, this product is more trouble than it's worth, and therefore not worth the $24.95 price tag. There are free products available that are better quality than this. If you don't want to waste your time fiddling about, take my advise and stay clear of this potentially good, but disappointing junk.

Pros
none that I can tell because of the nag.
Cons
NAG. Ridiculous...don't say 'free to try' if you put a nag over the video...no one can watch a video with a vendor's watermark plastered on their video. Did I say ridiculous.
Summary
Run.

Pros
WinAVI 3GP/MP4/PSP/iPod Video Converter is software for MP4/3GP file conversion of portable video device such as iPod/PSP, It can convert almost all video formats, for DivX, XviD, MOV, rm, rmvb, MPEG, VOB, DVD, WMV, AVI to iPod/PSP or other portable video device, MP4 player or smart phone. It has an unmatchable speed and high quality. And it supports to transport your video files to your iPod/PSP directly.
