WhatsApp Pocket for Mac allows you to back up and restore text messages and files sent through your smartphone's WhatsApp application, and can also quickly import your WhatsApp contacts to your email. Overall, it's neat and intuitive, but the demo version comes with limitations.

Pros

Intuitive design: WhatsApp Pocket features a clear and easy-to-navigate design. By following a few straightforward steps, you will be able to restore old WhatsApp texts in no time. If you have a recent backup on iTunes, you won't even need to have your phone plugged in to your computer to search through old messages.

Internal search feature: The search feature in this application is very convenient if you are trying to locate a particular text.

Helpful user guide: Even though you probably won't need it, there is an informative, step-by-step user guide available on the developer's Web site.

Cons

Limited demo: Although you can preview most features through the WhatsApp Pocket demo, you can't save anything. Also, a big pop-up ad prompts you to purchase a full license each time you click on a button. The demo only provides a snapshot of the full product's functionality.

No phone export option: Any recovery that you make through this application will stay on your computer. You cannot export messages back to your phone.

Bottom Line

Intuitive and easy to navigate, this application works as promised. If you use WhatsApp constantly and are worried about losing crucial messages, you should try out WhatsApp Pocket's demo and consider purchasing the full version.

CONFUSING INFO FROM DEVELOPER

In my opinion this is a questionable product so I have no Pros to offer

The employee I am dealing with at WebsBee tells me this program was installed with trial version of MacKeeper. I was not warned it would be installed, was not asked for permission and saw NOTHING explaining that a free MacKeeper trial had WebsSee attached to it as an invisible download. Now the employee at WebsSee tells me that this program CANNOT ever be uninstalled, and wants to know what my "issues" are about having it unsolicited, permanently. Wants to know why I have "issues" closing the popups and menu it drops down without my permission.
Summary
This product needs a warning label that once installed it can't be removed. The developer site says this is ...'Beta prerelease software not intended for inexperienced users and may contain bugs or damage" my computer. Buyer beware: would you allow WebsBee to install a GPS on your vehicle without your permission? Put a camera in your house or automatic garage door opener without your permission and then tell you that you can never remove it? What kind of developer creates a program that can never be removed? Do they have houses with doors that once locked can't be opened?
