A missed opportunity

This programme has the potential to embarrass all commercial rivals. 'Buggy' is often the adjective of choice among habitual whiners, upset that good software asked to work on bad installations occasionally throws a tantrum.
Cons
But 'WeatherMan' isn't all it might be. Error-identification, for example, meticulous (and insistent) to say the least, is probably the work of a German with an amphetamine problem. <p> <p>Another glitch is that the programme 'doubles-up' on the registry, giving two or more versions running simultaneously in your taskbar. Help files are non-existent, an absence it cheekily advises users remedy by re-installing the programme. <p> <p>WeatherMan worked fairly well after a few teething problems. Which brings me to the extraordinary bit, because the bloody thing wouldn't even allow me to donate. <p> <p>I wanted to. God I wanted to. I wanted most earnestly to 'go pro', to have the satellite maps and the signed photo of my favourite weather girl, and the T-shirt with its hilarious legend 'WeatherMen Do It To Each Other (Isn't The Point)'. <p> <p>It wasn't to be. Yearning availeth me nought as the infernal thing repeatedly rejected my every attempt at payment. The 'technical people' at the heart of this vast solo operation proved just as elusive moreover - hardly surprising since the site furnishes no contact e-mail. A 'Love Letters' (oh yes) section for testimonials warns anyone with technical problems to use the website's Help files. <p> <p>Now this Help section is real enough. Files are listed for each of the company's software programmes. All you do is choose. The one fly in the ointment is that the list doesn't include WeatherMan. <p> <p>Kevin Provance, the author, a clever, imaginative individual possessed of an unusual view of life - certainly he is the only person I have known who flatly refuses to let me give him money - once described this as a work in progress. I hope yet that he finishes what started so promisingly. Cometh the hour, cometh (again) the WeatherMan?

Nice, neat interface. Easy to set up.

Errors when running. Tried to uninstall and IT WON'T. Their customer support doesn't support anything.
Summary
My initial fondness for this turned to irritation when it malfunctioned and then to pure hatred when it wouldn't uninstall correctly. I only wish I would have found this site first and read the reviews. I gave it 2 stars because it did give accurate weather reports when it worked. My advice: If you want to try the program, do it at your own risk and SAVE YOUR CURRENT REGISTRY BEFORE INSTALLING IT. If you don't know what this means or how do do it, DON'T INSTALL IT. (I ended up installing Weather Exchange and have been using it for over a week now and love it. I hope it continues to work as well in 1 year as it does now!)

Has no ads . . . but I will gladly put up with Weatherbug's ads over this.

I tried this program about a week ago and it seemed to work OK at first, but pops up with an error message every time it starts up, along with a message requesting you to enter your email address and a description of what was happening at the time the error occurred, and send the error report. So I did so, and soon after I get the following email message from TPASoft. . ."Well, as you haven't paid for it, I guess you have no right to complain. If you don't like it, find something else" I'm not kidding, I actually got this message from them!<p>Now this is advertised as a free program and it is, while it asks you for a donation if you like the program every time it starts up. But do they really expect you to donate for something that kicks out an error message every time it starts up? I thought I was doing them a favor by alerting them to the problem and taking the time to fill out the error report. I would have gladly donated money, but not after this.<p>So then I uninstall the software, only to learn it doesn't completely uninstall. It leaves pieces of it running and I had to go into the registry and clear out the rest of it. Yuck!

It had all the features from Desktop Weather and Weather Bug, but no spyware! No ram problem and yes, of course is free.

WeatherMan has all the features of Desktop Weather and Weather Bug, without the annoying ads. Easy installation and doesn't use hardly any ram. You can add cities where friends and relatives live and you'll always know their weather, with just one click. I recommend you try it and give it 5 stars and two thumbs up!
